Jul 31, 2016 i think because they were at the front of the West Coast - East Coast beef society had the pressure to choose what they considered the best...at the time it seems there was more of a consensus regarding what is considered "good quality" and so it was easy to define these two rappers as the best...I mean its hard to tell now because its been 20 years since, but the energy of rap was different, you can tell. Also the avenues for distributing music was different. I believe the only way to really get your music out back then was through radio and club spins....so I can imagine all the artists at the time who weren't getting airtime, etc.

Aug 1, 2016 One of my biggest pet peeves is when someone mentions that Pac wasn't good as far as actually 'rapping' That's how you know the person hasn't listened to Tupac and is just saying what they saw other people say on an Internet forum
