I don't even think it was a diss... but in context, it is possible that punch decided to use a innocent verse to make some buzz or to send personal shots at jay electronica.

he ain't trying to do damage control...he's often associated with TDE but hes not a tde artist/producer. He is probably just saying he was there when kendrick recorded them verses 2 years ago..
