    Pros:
Dope flows, dope melodies, unpredictable (flow-wise), creative metaphors, dope hooks

    Cons:
Too many verses that just don't do anything for me.
As a writer he's not trying to be focused, but too many times I feel like his verses have no impetus

re: cons...you cuold just not listen to those songs haha. hes one of the few artists out that has literally upwards of a 1000 songs in his discog. shouldnt be too hard to find a nice 100 that you enjoy thoroughly if you truly stand by your pros /shrug

and his writing is sporadic, but he's always had poignant songs

like here's one from each of his eras

but i get what you're saying.

Has some of the most complex and inventive flows I've ever heard. His melodies are great. He's like a human instrument

Thug is one of those rappers that instantly clicked for me. His voice, adlibs, and the way he can turn a b-----r into a ballad and vice versa (see songs like Paradise or Raw), its crazy man. His lyrics could use a little bit more focus but honestly it doesnt bother me as much as it used to, he serves his purpose well and if you dont like him thats understandable.

I've heard King Troup, I've heard Promise, I think its called. I like them especially the Promise track I haven't heard the others you posted so I'll get back to you. I think he's already mastered translating emotions and the ghost line on Troup is dope, but I wish he had more balance within his discography. Maybe I haven't heard enough. He's a way smarter guy then he lets on so I would like to see him stay more focused on some of these songs rather than says he misses Troup then go into "I hop out I'm dabbin." I'm not saying that makes it a bad song but a lot of his songs come off like that to me. A little more balance is helpful. I know he's mainly a stream-of-conscious type writer. He shouldn't be restricted to being ultra-focused on every song, but more songs on one general topic would take him to the next level imo.

i get what you're saying, but i think its more that his writing calls for closer inspection than people are willing to give someone w his persona, you know? like if its kendrick they'll spend days "decoding" his basic a--- "lucy" metaphor.

but if thug spits a verse about troup passing and it seems like he's just talkin about dabbing and f---in twins, they'll ignore it. when in reality that verse, the first one troup, starts with him talking about him beating his own court case/celebrating by f---in twins but within 16 bars ends up with him saying "i take care of my kids with a passion" and talking about how Roscoe lost the same case he win and is now sleeping "where its nasty"

it just takes a closer listen than most people realize

but yeah im sure before long he'll be speaking a lot more directly on topics people like you are looking for, and he'll do that style just as well as he does his own right now, im sure of it. Let Me Live, the first song i linked, is from when he was like 20/21 and is a tribute to trayvon (he says s--- like "obama whats good bro, i wish you'd give a f--- more," and "if they k--- me bury me in my mama's garden," etc)

"Love Me" is my favorite love song of all time lol, its so good. check em out when you can :emoji_thumbsup:

the promise is awesome too btw
