Tupac. It doesn't matter if it's 1996 and I'm 10 or it's 2015 and I'm 29.... the guy's music has always hit me on a personal level. He's the only artist whose music can literally change my mood regardless of whatever situation I'm in. No Star Nizzy.

Also, the fact that he did everything he did before at age 25 is just.... f--- it's tough for me to really fathom that.

2Pac & Biggie died too young, for me it's Nas & Jay.

Tupac, for similar reasons to what @M Solo said. Pac's passion was on another level. When he spoke, whether rapping or doing an interview, I always want to hear what he has to say. He's the only rapper who's music has not gotten the least bit stale to me over the years. He was truly a once in a lifetime talent.

Another thing adding to the Tupac argument, all of his music that came out when he was alive was very good to great, he didn't have a bad album imo. Some of his posthumous stuff isn't as good but that's not his fault. He's also influenced more rappers than probably anybody else and made an impact outside of his music as well.

    Eminem, cus:

    • Most technical rapper of all time. Everything you could want from a rapper he had it in at less his prime
    • He was never afraid to say whatever the f--- he wanted to say
    • Its the principal inspiration of every modern rapper
    • Arguably most emotional rapper of all time.
    • Every Hip Hop fan that I see likes at less 2 albums from this guy. There are Rap leyends which some people can't stand even one song
    • He changed Hip Hop in a lot of ways
    • Even if Relapse wasn't really good he could rap a lot better drunk and after he relapsed than most rappers of that time
    • Best freestyler of all time
    • He destroyed the career of a lot of rappers and pop singers with only one diss
    • Eminem versus your favorite rapper and like it or not you would already know the result
    • Not only a GOAT at rapping but also a excellent producer
    • So far he renegaded every collab maded with other artists. He is the reason why the word "Renegade" exists
    • He can still cause controversy with just one line
    • One of the few rappers that can made flow changes on a track without sounding corny (Example: Groundhog Day)
    • At his prime he was the most innovating and fresh rapper of the moment
    • Hailie's Song :mjcry:

    Kanye
    • Most consistent hip hop discography of all time
    • One of the greatest live hip hop acts of all time
    • Effortlessly able to shift gears between every project without ever missing a step
    • Being one of the best received hip hop artists of all time critically
    • Innovation which has not just been evident in his music, but in hip hop in general
    • Putting together possibly the best roster for a major label on G.O.O.D Music
    • Being able to become the most polarizing figure in hip hop

    Nas

    1.
    Greatest album of all time
    2. Out of the usual names you see on most top 5 lists, Nas is the most lyrical
    3. Has the hottest lines in history, "presidents to represent me", "sleep is the cousin of death" the list goes on..
    4. The originator of concept songs - writing from the perspective of a gun.. which 2Pac went on to copy
    5. The ultimate 'rappers rapper' - hit the conscious/commercial divide perfectly, no large scale selling out
    6. Won the greatest rap feud in history, the title of his diss track then becoming a verb
    7. Set the standard for collab albums in an age where paring rappers from different labels was unheard of
    8. Name a rapper he hasn't influenced in some way. Baby pics on covers became a phenomena in Hip Hop
    9. Has the most academic praise from professors and linguistic professors
    10. Solid catalogue 'bar one or two projects', he stayed consistent even in modern times

Has he fallen a few spots for you?

Kanye and maybe Pharoahe Monch don't have worse albums than Atmosphere's last 2. There are other rappers too, but with a smaller body of work, like Raekwon, Andre... Ghostface has a solid discography too, DOOM and the Roots are up there, maybe Blu too? I haven't listened everything but I love BTH and Her Favourite Colour, among other releases.
I'd rate both Nas and Jay-Z really high but they have a couple of forgettable or mediocre albums too... I like Kanye's and Atmos' music the most, and some of their albums are among my favourites of all time, Slug is my favourite though. Too bad he's not been rapping very good lately.
