I kind of choose to have faith more just because I like the idea of there being a heaven because that'd be nice - despite the fact all logic defies it existing however I'm losing faith in all of it.

Plus my grandparents are absolute religious lunatic Christians. Absolute fuckwits. Showed me her God diary scrapbook thing with instances God has come into her life and one of them is an entry where she's showing me a time she was driving down a highway and nearly hit a truck but "God's angels flew down and picked the car up and moved it," and she's dead serious with this s--- she wrote it in her 40s so you can't put it down to old age s---. She's also sitting there holding my arm saying "he's real Charlie, he's real!" They're the sort of people where if you lose your keys when you find them it's not because that's where you left them - God put them there. They and imbeciles like them are a big reason as to why I have lost a lost of "faith" per se.

Because of the power and awe inspiring universe that couldn't have been an accident... A perfect world like this couldn't be a coincidence... It could only be engineered by L. Ron Hubbard.

I don't believe in the concrete existence of God, but I find it silly to just say it doesn't exist, because of the influence it's had here. I think God exists for them who need it, and it's up to them to interpret the religion. People have done good and bad in the name of Christianity, people have done good and bad in the name of Islam, people have done good and bad in the name of love, people have done good and bad in the name of love, people have done good and bad in the name of.... everything? pretty much.
It's up to us to put it to practice, without humans religion would be just a theory.
This doesn't mean I accept any form of hurting another person in the name of anything. Bad just will simply always exist. If something is against your world vision, simply do your best to do against it or avoid doing it.

I dislike the very niche of religion vs. science to be honest. Both have pros and cons for everything.
Science is vital at understanding the world and everything better, but I wonder where science would be without basic level of morals? I think religion played a huge part on creating morals and making them a basic part of people's lives, but you can't explain everything by merely believing.

Exactly, now imagine the whole history like that. We could possibly be able to cure f---ing everything, maybe even clone people, some other things you can't even imagine but where's the reason of doing it if the very concept of doing to others what you want them to do to you never existed.
I just simply believe these kind of things shouldn't be put completely against each other, as most likely both have effected both.

actually thinking about it, i think science pushes the boundaries of morals. Like not many people know or hear about it and I was never told, i was just spastic high one day and thought "hey when they went to the moon, how did they test that s---?" did they just do math, throw people in a spaceship and go "lets hope this works type deal?"

So from memory after looking it up, there's like hundreds of astronauts (i guess you'd call them) that died in extremely brutal deaths during the space race era. like one specific Launch (not a test one) had people inside the spacecraft and due to a really tiny wire fault, the entire craft was engulfed in flames, killling every on board almost instantly from a fireball. That's one I remember, but I remember there were lots of other f----- up deaths related to space. crazy s---. you'd never hear about it unless you went out of your way to see it.

In the end none of these things I said aren't based on facts at all and are just my pondering but oh well does it really matter

yeah it's so weird that cloning is possible (dolly the sheep) but no further tests on it are allowed etc, because morals

I just can't find it believable. Like there being a god that created it all, a man that walked on water, stood up from the dead etc... I'm christian on paper, but I have zero faith.

Yeah, like I said peeps have done good and bad in the name of pretty much everything, even morals and science in that sense.
Science pushes the boundaries of morals yeah, but morals also give science some basic milestones to get to, a reason to even do it maybe. Then again during the history science has probably played a big part on editing people's morals to what they are now.

yeah I agree, just think of the morality v science s--- show over the next 10, 20 years. A.I, robots, stasis, converting brain matter into data... s--- will be unreal. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if these types of things already exist in super controlled/secret environments. I know scientists have already figured out how to download brain matter as data, which is crazy s---.
