Apr 9, 2016 no, but you bitching about the debate in the OP is literally the opposite of what you're preaching in that quote im sorry their discussion triggered you tho bb. those students seem to have dealt with it fine
Apr 9, 2016 I'd honestly like to know what you believe would have been made of that if the races had been reversed. There's a big difference between claiming to need a "safe space" to hide from the "trauma" resulting from an on-campus debate on feminism, and thinking that allowing students to advocate genocide of an entire race should not be tolerated. I assume you'd support me standing on university grounds yelling "police k--- these worthless n-----s"? That's basically the idea the black student in the video is spewing, and being allowed to.
Apr 9, 2016 Look, in a world where being PC is taking over, to battle that we can't be selective on what we want to hear. You have to be a realist. It's a debate class and you're right, it likely wouldn't be tolerated if the races were reversed, but honestly, I don't care and neither should you. Say what you want, let the whole world hear it, but let other people do the same.
Apr 9, 2016 The best way to combat these kinds of people is to let the world hear their rhetoric. No doubt if instances like this were more well-known, society (the part that has sense) would stop tolerating them and they'd be stamped out as they should be.
Apr 9, 2016 now you're saying unsolicited hate speech is the same as a controversial debate in a classroom setting you're own angers getting the best of u m8
Apr 9, 2016 My problem is not with what he said. My problem is that universities are sanctioning this type of rhetoric, which obviously would not be tolerated if the races were reversed, while at the same time no-platforming speakers who may say something which "triggers" or offends one of these special little snowflakes. He can be a worthless racist all be wants, but should universities really be giving them a platform to advocate genocide? They'll give this kind of filth a platform to speak, yet will ban speakers such as Ben Shapiro for having the "wrong opinions" on BLM?
Apr 9, 2016 The point is that these people aren't "those kinds of people". It's for the sake of an argument. The content means nothing. You can tell the way they are arguing about it.
Apr 9, 2016 The black student has a Twitter which shows he truly believes in what he is saying. He is truly a racist. The fact that universities are giving people like him a platform to spew hatred (though I'm certain calling for genocide goes way beyond simple hatred) while simultaneously no-platforming speakers for "wrong think" (not supporting BLM, not being a feminist, not believing in "r--- culture" etc.) is very telling of what is to become of the future of university if this s--- continues to be tolerated. Best case scenario, schools that allow this start dying out. Look what happened at Missouri University after those BLM protests, freshmen enrollment plummeted and donors stopped giving money. They have no choice but to change or continue to decline and inevitably die out to alternatives such as online schooling.
Apr 9, 2016 How is it "propaganda"? This is literally what they do, no need for any misrepresentation. They're awful all on their own.
Apr 9, 2016 Glad to know that absolutely nobody here seems to have a problem with universities allowing black people to advocate genocide. It's reassuring knowing that you people have a bigger problem with acknowledging and calling out this behavior than you do with the behavior itself.
Apr 9, 2016 Never seen de dude before but starting threads like this always results into black vs white and one side defending dirty cops and other side defending thugs and criminals, which I both don't get. At this point this is the same as Recovery vs MMLP2
Apr 9, 2016 I've been in the same class where the argument was opposition of gay marriage. No one cared. If this kid really does care, that's his problem lol I just want to iterate that if the kid were to be taken seriously, it would be an issue. But he shouldn't because he is a stupid college kid with no real life experience in a "safe place" classroom arguing with other stupid 18 year olds. By acknowledging him, you're giving him a platform to preach. Ignore these fools. Missouri was a problem because leadership had no backbone and faculty were involved. The university sucks all together and they are paying the price for it right now with admission and donation declines. You know who ends up paying for that? Students, staff and the tax payers of Missouri. That institution is in a downward spiral and it was not all BLM's fault. It was an institutional problem, not necessarily about race.
Apr 9, 2016 its perfectly fine to not support the black lives matter movement. go to rap forums and get surprised by occasional misogyny brehs
