Mar 17, 2017 Never heard any Filipinos and Chinese say the N word and I'm glad I never did. That would be so cringeworthy. It's already cringeworthy when Desi and Arab people say it. Fat Joe most likely has black ancestry, so it's not as cringeworthy. I never really thought of him as "white" anyway.
Mar 17, 2017 It was high school which is whatever but I got a pass.... Then it went into college in the late nineties got the pass there too surprisingly. I was like why can black people call me "n----- or my n-----" but I can't respond in the same way with the same love in my heart... So I did and it worked. Got the pass. That was Philly heads too sooo
Mar 17, 2017 This guy is 100% Brown and Drake is a half white jew. Why can drake say it? I never understood this. I'm not African or american so I am pretty naive and I'm asking this out of genuine interest - why can Drake say it? He lived a rich white guys life and it honestly seems like he just uses it to sound cool. Anyway it's not really a big deal to me at all, it just never felt right hearing drake said it (until I got used to him saying it cuz he does say it a LOT)
Mar 18, 2017 People who are from India are a lot darker than Drake. When you say black, do you mean black as a race i.e. African heritage? Or do you simply use black as a term for dark skin? Because if it's the latter I think Nav is blacker than Drake Again I am asking out of ignorance because I am not part of that culture. I'm not trying to sound like an authority on the matter nor am I trying to start an argument
Mar 18, 2017 Confusing tbh, aussies call everyone black Like how would you feel about an indigenous Australian using the word? After all they would hear the word "nigg*r" used against them as a racial slur But they're not African
Mar 18, 2017 Personally, I don't really care though I do find it cringe-worthy when non-black people use it. It's one of those words where I feel like certain people will get passes for using it but the pass isn't universal. You may have grew up around black people and their culture and they might not care if you use it but that doesn't mean every black person you encounter won't care. As someone who does not have African heritage, you have to be conscious of that. I choose to stay away from the word almost entirely. I might say it here or there with close friends but it's definitely not something i choose to use often.
