I've been watching some old 2002-2003 episodes of Smackdown lately and I remembered Chris Benoit who was considered arguably the best technician wrestler to ever step foot in the WWE ring. Why WWE never mention his name like ever ? I have seen many legends mentioned in WWE shows but never heard his name. I researched about it but only found will WWE ever mention Chris Benoit instead of Why they never mention his name. So I thought maybe someone here could give me an answer ? Thanks

If you're legit serious and don't know, it's because over a 3-day period he killed his wife, kid and himself.

Upon from the odd rare mention here and there WWE literally erased him form existence.

Still can't believe man killed them just like that. Severe brain damage and concussions were the cause right?

He had a bunch of stuff in his system at the time, but the main leading factor was brain damage. Dude had the brain of an 85-year-old alzheimer's patient

I guess diving headbutts went wrong. That move might caused the brain damage. I just read about it on wiki now and seriously I didn't know it. It's not like they gave it in the TV news in my country. I wasn't into wrestling in2007 when he commited a suicide neither so no I never heard of it..

I was a big fan back then and can remember logging onto WWE.com and the main page had an article about a commotion about a break-in or something at Benoit's family home. I legit thought it was part of a storyline seeing as he missed the ECW PPV the night before. Then the news came in that Benoit, his wife and child had been killed. Think news that Benoit did it came out not long after RAW.

The diving headbutts, concussions and whacks to the head throughout his career is what tragically caused it even though he had 3 different substances in his body at the time of toxicology.

Diving headbutt was one of those finishers that kinda bs. I mean why would I be pinned with a headbutt. It was really bs. Chris Benoit was good tho.

I remember finding out like it was yesterday. Just like the day Eddie died, I had not been on the internet all day. Then my friend's mom called me and was like "why aren't you guys home" and I was like "why what's up?" and she was all "Chris Benoit is dead" so me and buddy ran to his house and turned on RAW and sure enough, and right after the episode went off air all this s--- about the murder/suicide came out. 14 year old Tommy was devastated. I know people hate the way football is now (including myself) but I'm glad it is the way it is, since concussions were a leading factor in Benoit's brain damage as well as a lot of other famous athletes who committed suicide
