Jul 25, 2016 Seems like Hillary made a good choice with her VP, she's ditched the Bernouts for the moderate, undecided voter. With the email leak, gotta admit that's a good move.
Jul 25, 2016 She's picked a great vp for long term purposes instead of going for someone she actually didn't want.
Jul 25, 2016 And I would be fine with this if photo IDs were provided to every citizen for free and by mail.
Jul 25, 2016 And Ye, the Democrats would be stupid if they ignore the revolution Bernie started. Luckily, it looks like they're actually addressing them in this convention.
Jul 25, 2016 Who the f--- is stage managing this? The lag with Franken and Silverman up there was ridiculous, and while I agree with what Silverman said, it was a f---ing boneheaded thing to do and threw the convention into chaos.
Jul 25, 2016 How much does a photo ID cost in the U.S? I have been having trouble finding out how much on Google.
Jul 25, 2016 That's not that bad. I can understand why you think that'd be bad for poor minorities, I know that $35 is hard to part with when you're poor. I'd imagine a lot of minorities have their drivers license though, so it'd be an inconvenience for a demographic within a demographic, lol.
Jul 25, 2016 The time investment is also, no joke a very big thing: DMV hours are super inconvenient for working people, triple if you have kids.
Jul 25, 2016 Yeah, you're right. That's a lot of hoops to jump through just to vote. Maybe the whole mandatory voter ID thing would work better if people could get IDs via the mail. I never really thought about the DMV times. They must be even worse in major cities.
Jul 25, 2016 I still do believe it should he a requierment, photo IDs that is, but if the only way to get one is at a DMV, I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy kek.
Jul 25, 2016 Much worse, and then you have to consider the fact that non-white people, especially those with less money, live disproportionately in major cities, and are therefore much less likely to have cars/a need for a driver's license. So in a perfect world, yes, photo ID would be easy and free to attain, and in that perfect world I'd have no problem with it being required to vote.
Jul 25, 2016 Yeah I'm actually with you @WPG, my Libertarian instincts are kicking in and they are telling me that the government enforcing photo ID laws without making the process more convenient is anti voter by its very nature.
