Jul 24, 2016 What? You mean with her serving as a surrogate in Florida? Classic political move: You reduce or eliminate visibility to acknowledge/deal with political fallout, don't come down too hard so as to minimize the perceived wrongdoing. Standard. She won't be heard from again post-convention.
Jul 24, 2016 Hillary must be playing 4 dimensional inverted chess because to me, the decision is obvious - don't associate with her at all. She's losing Bernie Bros at an alarming rate now.
Jul 24, 2016 I understand how the primary numbers might give you this impression, but until you spend some time outside of major cities in America, it's impossible to really wrap your head around how impossible it would be to elect a 75-year-old Jewish socialist. It's frustrating and embarrassing but it's the reality of the country. Yeah but that's the next step--DWS will "be a surrogate in Florida" but will not make a single public comment from next Friday through inauguration day. An out-and-out disavowal probably extends the life of this story.
Jul 24, 2016 Excuse me? My concern about the Democratic party real views towards minorities is me spewing "haughty moralist s---"? They called them "projects" and "commodities", I had tons of good reasons to take that quote out of context. Beside, what the f--- you know about my real intentions, you dim-witted goofball? You don't hesitate to compare Trump with white supremacists but do call me out when I'm sharing information that does not fit your POV? You have no place in this conversation.
Jul 24, 2016 Republicans were willing to change their platform to a more nationalist, America first centric message, I think Democrats would be willing to go further left, honestly I think that was what was supposed to happen, Trump and Bernie shifting their respective parties in a different direction. I can see why you think adding Debbie to Hillarys staff is a standard move, I just feel like scandals stick to Hillary more than the average politican, there's a chance people don't forget about Debbie, maybe it'll even become a Trump talking point.
Jul 24, 2016 Saying "I have no words" when you literally missed the entire point of an email and used it to point the party as racist is incredibly haughty. Let's be real here. I, too, have grave concerns about how the Democratic party deals with minority groups in America. But most of these are policy concerns, or are about the dumb retail pandering Hillary does. There's nothing in any of these emails--that I've seen--that suggests any sort of racism within the DNC. All voters are referred to as "commodities." I assume this is your first time actually reading campaign memos, which is fine, you're 16 and from another country. But this is how campaigns operate. You break the populous down into discrete groups in dozens of different ways, then treat them mathematically. You don't refer to people that way in public, because A. it's politically toxic and B. very few people actually views any group as a mathematical quantity. But these are..........internal memos that weren't meant to be leaked. You can (and do) call me an a------, but I think you'd be hard-pressed to convince anyone that I'm "dim-witted" when it comes to politics or journalism. This thread is marked by a majority of posters who know very little about how American politics go, and that's the engine of a lot of this outrage. Because, speaking objectively, that's not an unreasonable thing to do. He retweets white supremacists and perpetuates their misinformation. He's adored by online and real-life white supremacist groups. He's given speeches composed entirely of very loud dog whistles. He had that anti-semitic fiasco. He's polling 0 percent with black voters. "You have no place in this conversation"-- a teenager from another country who isn't a native english speaker and has no prior knowledge of American politics, talking to me about journalism and American politics lololololololol
Jul 24, 2016 Why can't you explain this particular concern like this instead of running round in circles and pulling some kind of show? If I'm insulting you it's because I keep trying to have a good conversation and you can't withold your cynicism for at least one debate. Fine, I understand, still think that what's on those emails is deplorable and I couldn't never digest the morals behind it, but do you. See this.
Jul 24, 2016 Uh if you go back earlier in this thread, I was very clear, very systematic. I explained to you bit-by-bit why that Klein piece was simply good journalistic practice, and you basically threw a fit. You're the one who's been acting like a zealot in here. I'm being direct. I can't "withhold my cynicism," says the guy who thought an email about taco bowls was a racist smoking gun?????????????? What, specifically, is deplorable? A "racist" email you concocted in your head? A Comm. dept doing its job? A party pushing its best nominee to the front? The takeaway I would have as an uninvolved outsider is that you want very badly--for some reason, I don't know, I won't speculate--to be mad at Clinton, or maybe the Democrats as a whole. Because if we're being honest, there's basically nothing here that isn't politics as usual.
Jul 24, 2016 Lmao what a bs copout. "Hey could I have any of those specifics I've been asking you for for five pages of this thread" "This comment proves my point" embarrassing
Jul 24, 2016 This is absolutely devastating for the Dems. And right before the DNC, absolutely devastating lol. Hilarious tbh, they screwed Bernie over so hard. If he's smart, he'd go on a warpath. Trump just won president btw, that wall gonna be so nice
Jul 24, 2016 I literally came in this thread to butt heads with @PRHYME, who has consistently shown himself to be the most ill-informed, politically illiterate person on this site, including JMG. But Pato insisted on pulling a Pato: jumping into a debate halfway through with absolute inanities, then refusing to get the point.
Jul 24, 2016 I know it's all in jest but ya'll don't need to insult Pato I mean his opinion is already in the minority here, it's like kicking somebody when they are down lmao
Jul 24, 2016 See below: It does not offend me, but if you keep going this route everytime we have a conversation then at some point I'll have to stop and explain how it's almost impossible to debate with you without feeling overwhelmed with the sneaky remarks. If anything, you're the one who's being a zealot and taking my words the wrong way. I'm willing to discuss this, but not like this.
