Jun 23, 2015 there are also people that use the word n----- without racist intent, see obama this week. not everyone understands context or intention and so there will be people overreacting because of the nature of the subject
Jun 23, 2015 The mentality behind flying the Confederate flag is that you're a Southerner, and there's not really another symbol to show that you're proud of that I don't fly it because frankly I couldn't give less of a s--- that I happened to be born in x location, but saying people who fly it support slavery is like saying people who fly the American flag support denying gays the right to marriage. Unless you're an idiot you're flying the flag because you like where you live and youre proud of your heritage.
Jun 23, 2015 Schools taught me this, that it was over taxes and States rights and that slavery wasn't even the biggest issue
Jun 23, 2015 which is horseshit, as anyone with a serious understanding of history will tell you. slavery and its economic impact were the sole reason for the civil war. it wasn't half the nation didn't take up arms to secede over differing philosophies about the size of central government.
Jun 23, 2015 The meaning behind the Confederate flag hasn't changed in the past 3 years, so I'm sure Kanye will keep wearing it if we wants to. His intent obviously wasn't Confederate support.
Jun 23, 2015 The confederate battle flag is explicitly a symbol of racism, though more associated with Jim Crow than the Civil War. Come to think about it, those fighting for segregation were really just for "state's rights" too. Funny, that.
Jun 23, 2015 The Truth is 100% is in this post.. people who think otherwise need to dig deeper, a lot deeper.
Jun 24, 2015 Even in America (I live kind of on the unofficial border between the North and the South) I'd say that easily 90% of people I've known who chose to hang Confederate flags on their walls or put stickers on their cars were racists. Here's where I stand: America is built on Freedom of Speech. Making the Confederate Flag illegal for the average citizen to own, wear, or even march in a demonstration with would be a travesty. Not because I agree with what those racists believe in, but because free speech means free speech for ALL. But having that flag flying over official government buildings is a COMPLETELY different ballgame. There is no reason why that should still be allowed. If the South had won the Civil War, that flag would be the National flag. But they lost, so there's no logical reason to fly it over any government building. Yes, it's a part of our history, but that's a pretty illogical defense for keeping it up. That would be like the fine people of Germany choosing to start putting Swastikas on their buildings.
Jun 25, 2015 I mean, imagine being a racist in mississippi and seeing your neighbor who's black. Just because you're offended doesn't mean you're right.
Jun 25, 2015 who gives a f--- you're all a bunch of p-----s, its a d--- flag. go fly a "f--- white people" sign for all i care. it's america and you have the choice to do that. censorship is contributing to the pussification of this country.
Jun 27, 2015 Yo does this mean the value of Kanye's confederate shirt from the Yeezus tour is about to skyrocket? If so, I'm bout to make some guap
