Mar 28, 2015 Its a great song aesthetically - i like listening to it. But yeah, the writing/premise is too simple for me. still, the part you quoted, or "im insensitive, and i lack empathy" s---, etc are all so great on the surface. wish the song's premise was stronger as for this game, i think for free and these walls are better. those two are up next to go out for me -- these walls vs HMADC is close...and now that im thinking about it, the hook on these wall's is the only thing saving it for me. for free is better than both. all three are around an 8/10 tho.
Mar 28, 2015 Song is catered for simple minded people and that goes for a lot of the writing on this album -- it's not really a critique except for in this case. kendrick just did that on purpose, was more pointed instead of subtle, so that his message gets across. HMADC just seems lazy on top of that. Complexion is in the same boat, but its more unnecessary than anything else, not lazy.
Mar 28, 2015 Personally I prefer HMADC to Alright and Momma. I like all three songs but just via the process of elimination I'd eliminate the latter two before HMADC. It's probs an unpopular opinion but meh.
