Jan 5, 2015 'b---- I'm in the club' and a few others from that era are his worst by far, Real was the weakest track on GKMC, on a classic album.. that's not a bad thing. Context really is everything with 'Real', the voicemail recordings etc.
Jan 5, 2015 That's the thing tho, it was a supposedly pivotal part of the album (didn't have to be, Sam/dot could've been the end), and he pretty much dropped the ball quality wise. I loved everything about the interwoven voicemails and s---. Great job bringing the narrative full circle...but the song itself? Awful
Jan 5, 2015 Lately I don't really mind Compton as much tbh. It's filler material, obviously, but it's like a celebration in the end of the album, and has some very good parts (like the outro)/ Real is skipped almost everytime lol, to the point that I'm not sure if it's a bad song, or sounds bad in this album like @Term-X said. But that hook is so trash lol, I was really sad to hear that because I like Anna Wise; haven't listened to that much by her but she's made some good guest appearences like in Oneirology.
Jan 5, 2015 Probably gonna get s--- for this but other than a few songs here and there like C&C or ADHD I actually ain't heard a Kendrick project other than GKMC. With that being said, probably Compton because there was nothing special about it to me and the only other one that comes close is Real and it ain't even bad K. Dot is just at that Yeezy level where any song that isn't god tier is immediately subpar. Edit: I do plan on giving OD and Section 80 a listen once I finish Eminem's pre-comeback s---

Jan 5, 2015 lyrics are cool but nothing special (he did the same kind of s--- better on good kid). the hook was awful, and lazy, and a huge misstep towards the end of an otherwise near flawless album production was good and voicemails were dope, yeah

Jan 5, 2015 I still skip Michael Jordan whenever I go back to OD and Real is the other one that comes to mind. I hate how "i" turned out but the message is dope and that 2nd verse is excellent.
