Mar 16, 2015 Content is what's most important to me. I guess that would fall under "lyrics" here. I've always said when Eminem is serious and raps about meaningful s---, he's easily the greatest rapper of all-time. When he goofs around and raps about stupid s--- he's mediocre at best. It's like two totally separate artists.
Mar 16, 2015 Rap God is one of the best songs on MMLP2, I like it, but it's still not anywhere near as good as the personal songs he had on Recovery. The "super sonic" third verse was one of the most impressive things I've heard him do just from a rapping/flow standpoint but I prefer personal/emotional introspective Em.
Mar 16, 2015 This is difficult. Wanted to say lyrics but if that means it will be unlistenable (flow/delivery) I wouldn't like it either. I rather have a few songs that have it all like his last few albums and delete the rest than just pick one of these for a whole album
Mar 16, 2015 I just want some good content. The whole technical skill showing off thing is cool but soooooo overused at this point. We get it Marshall you're the goat. Rap about some decent things and uses that silky smooth tes flow
Mar 16, 2015 it is all about delivery. You can rap over any beat, but the question is about how you will deliver it, which I feel ties into flow in its own way anyhow. Marshall has ruined many great beats because of his delivery. I guarantee it 100%, he could use the same exact lyrics but deliver it different and actually make that track work and be fire. If he used a better delivery flow for some of that Shady XV s---, same lyrics, he could've made those songs 100x better.
Mar 16, 2015 I like his delivery on So Far. And actually I like most of the lyrics as well. There are just some horrible parts that bring the song down a lot.
Mar 16, 2015 em might have done mmlp2 a disservice by making xv so much better also every track he's "ruined" with a delivery that wasn't fleshed out enough (and idk what that even means... celebrity? symphony in h?) has rhyming and technics that any other rapper would be mystified by
Mar 16, 2015 I will be totally honest with you, So Far sounds like he is just coming of age.. really.. like he is just some average Joe now. That is how it comes off in the song plus I suppose using that classic rock overtone to it.
Mar 16, 2015 Flow. He could be talking about sucking dres d-ck for all I care as long as it's good flow.
