I was really presently surprised by 2 Chainz, Daniel Son; Necklace Don. Deserving of a spot on here for sure.

Interesting list overall, but considering how Aesop Rock, The Impossible Kid is all the way down at 47... I don't know... that's my favorite album of the year so far.

these are my full thoughts on that tape: http://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/22221-daniel-son-necklace-don/

as for aesop rock: i don't think the new album is Skelethon level, but it's very good.

No Purple Reign or EVOL? @WPG

I know EVOL has its issues but has a handful of great tracks.

Yeah but he listens to so many albums an album needs more than a handful of great tracks to make @WPG list

I think it's because he slowed down his raps that I prefer it over Skelethon. His storytelling on The Impossible Kid is phenomenal. "Blood Sandwich," and "Shrunk" are fantastic. Not to mention the best hip hip track ever about a cat with, "Kirby,"... with maybe the exception of Sage Francis's "Make Em Purr."

Man I keep going back and forth on this. I don't think it works as well as its predecessor.

Black Beatles is obviously the best song of all time though

Didn't listen to Sremmlife 1. So will have to give that a listen sooner or later.
Black Beatles is the best mainstream hit single I have heard in a while.

It's mostly mindless party music but it's done really, really well. I feel like if it had come out when I was in college it would have been in constant rotation

@Dew I forgot to report back to you....I really love Wave Gods. Glad I finally got around to it

i admire the album a lot more than i enjoy it. i don't have a single negative thing to say, but i know i'm going to listen to the previous three way more frequently. and yeah, z's incredible.
