yea true...idk I just think a full hardcore match would have been kinda contradicting, considering it was called "house of horrors"..lol

PPV wasn't bad at all, I actually enjoyed it quite a bit for the most part. This matchup between Y2J and KO was alot better than the mania match. My only issues with it are knowing Jericho is leaving soonish and the rule stating whoever won was going to smackdown. Not knowing those things as a wrestling fan would add a more realistic tone to the win. Other than that it was a little sad to see Chris move so slowly. I know he's getting up there in age but maybe he should changeup his style a little to accommodate his current ability.

I really liked the simple finish of the women's match. The ddt was a perfectly believeable end. I honestly have never enjoyed women's wrestling up until this current generation of athletes. Not only are they beautiful but extraordinarily talented. I'm more impressed with them than I am most of the men's work.

The house of horrors would have been better if it would have either been completely in the house or in the ring imo. They could have even done like a boiler room brawl type of match. The part that annoyed me most was that the taped portion was like 10 min or whatever it was and it took Bray 30 min after that to get to the arena, was his house down the road? Lol. They should have maybe opened the show with that match to at least make it seem like it wasnt taped. I think the match would have been better suited for Bray to win if he was booked better and if they were on the same show. I also hate his finishing maneuver, it looks to be a very low impactful move.

I'm glad Strowman won and Roman actually put on a better match "hurt" than he did when he wasn't. I liked the ending of the cruiserweight match and holy s--- at when Jeff lost his tooth. He handled that well. For all the praise that Anderson and Gallows get they sure are booked bad. Cesaro is a beast, very impressive athlete.

Nah Payback was good. The fact that not a single match was given the extra attention or booking to push 4* is ridiculous imo like I get no one pays for PPV anymore we just pay for the network and get special shows every month but we got like 4 good TV matches and not a single 'ppv' caliber match.

So yes it was 'good' in that 90% of the matches were good but this isn't a good match show this is an event.

Someone should've been given the reigns (no, not HIM) to go the extra mile one way or another and put on a great match. Heck--why not multiple matches? Because they have our network money and can trick us to forget a time when PPV meant 4* matches not better-than-TV matches.

I give it a 7. But it's tricky because it isn't a bad 7 where there are great matches but also shitfests in between. Almost everything was a great TV match but nothing was 4* or higher. So you're enjoyment will vary depending on how much you like the talent in the match

Like everything was in the 3*-3.75* range

Yeah I'd also say a 6 or 7, but then again I missed like half the show so I probably shouldn't rate it lol...

But yeah we sort of need to lower our expectations for PPVs or 'special events' nowadays or whatever you wanna call them, I already kind of have. I mean with both brands we have a PPV basically every few weeks, can't expect them all to be big deals.

I like the way NXT sets their PPVs, that way the stories are built up well. I dont think their takeover specials have ever disappointed me.

Yeah that's why I don't give main roster an excuse

More work? Youre Vince McMahon. Hire more writers. Spend more money do something so that ur PPV matches are PPV caliber matches dammit

Again I can't blame the talent here because I think they did everything they were told to do exactly how they were told to do it

Fast forward to Backlash you have Jinder challenging for wwe title and Breezango challenging for tag titles

I don't have anything against these talents (breezango are great) but they're JOBBERS and this outcome showcases the lack of direction and build to these Network events

Dave said it best on wrestling observer. If the Backlash card was for an actual PPV it would die.

WWE can give so much stress... the moment you think " I can write better s--- than this", you know something is wrong with the product.

The moment when the baby face is internally bleeding and the fans are thanking the perpetrator is when you know something is wrong with the product
