Anyone else already purchasing Christmas gifts? I f---ing hate shopping and have gotten into the habit of buying/planning to buy months prior. I just dropped $150 CAD ($113 USD) on this Hallmark collectible Polar Express replica cup/coaster plate for my girlfriend this year. Polar Express was one of those Christmas movies that clicked with her when she was younger and has been a staple in her Christmas traditions ever since. Last year I went the jewelry route so I figured I'd do something radically different this year.

Nobody else I really bother with sentimental gifts for. we're a pretty chill family and are skraight with giving blu-rays and whatever.

How could that be north of $100? I've bought actual screen used props from great movies for less than that.

Limited production Hallmark item only produced in 2004. There was only two of them listed on eBay and instead of f---ing around and placing bids I figured I'd purchase it direct to avoid missing out on it. Price wasn't a factor I even considered when searching for it.

s--- I thought my dad started christmas shopping early but even that's not until around halloween, way too early for me to even be thinking about it. But nothing wrong with doing it early especially if you happen to see good gift ideas anyways.

No, all my family and friends are adults, if we want something we can buy it for ourselves.
What I have been doing instead is asking the people I would buy for if they would be okay with me spending the money elsewhere. So I buy socks, jocks, toiletries ect., which can be done last minute, and hand them into homeless shelters. Christmas is supposed to be about giving so why not give to those who actually need.
Plus, for my loved ones, spending time with me should be enough of a gift.

I'm getting my little brother a nice wallet because he's a greedy little monster stretching out a cheap money clip atm. For my sisters I've been thinking about making some braiding boards and woodburning their favorite animals into them. I'll buy them some decent material to use as well. No clue with my GF or mom yet. My littlest brother is only 2 and he'd be happy with pretty much anything.
