its devastating that this album isnt selling well, i finally bought it today and i hope my tiny contribution helps
and i hope yelawolf doesnt s--- on this masterpiece and pretend it was an accident a few months from now like em did with relapse just because the fans werent buying it
this is my favorite yelawolf album and its the only album to come out this year that i like more than d---, it deserves moreGarrett, afghaniStan, DetroitDGAF and 1 other person like this. -

So, I've re-listened to the album multiple times (including right now) and here is my final opinion:
1. TBF is definitely Yelawolf's most personal album to date.
2. It is unique and great in its own right - It shouldn't actually be compared to previous releases...
3. In terms of point 2, it is hard NOT to compare - WHY? Because unfortunately there ha been poor effort to promote the album prior to its launch. This being said, effective promotion would have ensured that everyone was 'on the same page' in terms of expectations and the overall direction Yela wanted to take. Instead, we all expected 'A' and got 'Z'.
So yes, it is not HOTEL (which was amazing), but definitely has something special to it. I feel that it is quite repetitive, and the mixing is quite poor in some areas. I would have preferred this to have been his first non-Shady release (reminds me of 50 Cent's Animal Ambition actually).
Anyway, good effort from Yela.afghaniStan, SLAYAR, DetroitDGAF and 1 other person like this. -

Underwhelming first listen.
First half was better than the 2nd. A lot of ''samey'' s---, even though the whole album felt cohesive - it also felt largely boring. Noting really jumped out, a lot of boring talky flow about nameless stories...
And I'm sure I remember the laziest rhymes ever on the intro.
First listen was a 6/10 album for me.
Gonna re-spin and live with it but as of right now, LS >>>>> By a country mile.Groovy Tony, SLAYAR, cancel and 1 other person like this. -

After a full day of listening here are my thoughts
Daylight is still dope
Row Your Boat is a great track
The other singles are meh
All the non singles are great.... the ones that stand out to me are
Do for Love
I’m really liking True to Yourself
And that Sabrina track is a real stand out, it’s an uncomfortable chilling listen
Love he vibes from the production although I feel like some of the songs sound too similar
Overall very solid, did not expect it to be anywhere near as good as love story but it may be.... very impressive stuff from an underrated artistGroovy Tony, SLAYAR, SaintsNL and 1 other person like this. - Jun 22, 2025

i love this album, I think its better than love story and i think many people overrate love story just a tad bit
love story was very country sounding but focused a lot on singing and trial by fire developed that country sound even further but yela focused on rapping, and that's what i want
this album has to be a 8.5 at least, ive never been so awestruck by a few new songs before 0.0;Groovy Tony, SaintsNL, Rakim69 and 1 other person like this. -

Album probably won't even leak before the release. Don't know if it is because of good measures or simply because nobody cares. Anyways, can't wait.eddie313, FTI3, SLAYAR and 1 other person like this. -

Any casual Nirvana fan will say Nevermind is better, but with most seasoned Nirvana fan, the conversation gets a lot more complex. Most hardcore fans will say In Utero, some will say Bleach etc etc. because Nevermind is extremely polished album by their standards, and the other records are much more unfiltered.
Point being, a lot of hardcore Yelawolf fans don’t even consider Love Story to be his best work, I personally think it’s Trunk Muzik Returns, and then Stereo, and then Love Story. I’ve loved everything I’ve heard from Trial By Fire and it’s really gearing up to be his best album because everything I’ve heard is raw, unfiltered, a true culmination of his work as an artist. It’s already much grittier than Love Story and I love it.DetroitDGAF, ScrewNChopIT, joeyp363 and 1 other person like this. -

You guys are seriously jumping to conclusions far too quickly based on what you’ve heard, and what you’ve heard is incredible, just not akin to your tastes. Any hardcore Yelawolf fan loves this s---. This is an album for his core base, he’s not compromising in the slightest.joeyp363, Xmipod, AceVentura and 1 other person like this. -
