Sep 4, 2016 Yelawolf is leaps and bounds ahead of anyone on Slaughterhouse, considering they're mostly just lyrical miracle, one-dimensional rappers, whereas Yela is a complete musical tour de force, and has shown far more flexibility as an artist than anyone that has ever been signed to Shady. Even if all of that weren't the case, has proven multiple times that he can outrap all of them, with far more charisma and broader topics. He's also a better musician than current Eminem, in my own unpopular opinion. The main reason for these misconceptions is because people don't check out any of his music besides his two Shady releases, and it's almost impossible to grasp the concept of Yelawolf by doing just that.
Sep 4, 2016 He shouldn't be on Shady. He deserves better, Shady Records is a s--- label that doesn't seem to care about his artistry.
Sep 5, 2016 I only like trunk muzik the rest of his albums are eh. They have some good songs but his only album that i can listen all the way through is trunk muzik. And slaughterhouse isnt just lyrical lol you obviously havent heard much of their music
Sep 5, 2016 That's not even true, Yelawolf created his album the way he wanted and em gave him a green light. Let him try to bring out an album like love story with another label, we wouldve never heard it.
Sep 5, 2016 As much as I agree with Shady Records being a label that's horrible at promoting their artists, you can't demy it's probably the fit for him. We wouldn't be talking about Yelawolf today if it wasn't because of his association with Shady, and he wouldn't have a thread here with over 1,000 posts. It's a double edged sword. And I also agree with what @Genius said, they did give Yela the greenlight on making the album he wanted to make with Love Story. Well, that's fine. It usually comes down to taste. But I still have to disagree with you. Yelawolf said it himself, Trunk Muzik was a very straightforward project and only showed one lane of his style and one single approach when it came to music. Whereas all his other projects showed how versatile he is as a artist and how much of a musical chameleon the guy truly is. And no. I have heard pretty much everything Slaughterhouse and their solo members have to offer. I know exactly what I'm talking about. They're extremely bland stylistically and every time they try a different approach to how they make music, you end up with the mess known as Welcome To Our House. Why? Because those guys are built only for rapping, and taking an approach to music beyond that is extremely difficult for them. Yela has a much broader grip of multiple genres, and that's why he's making country/rap fusions with an unprecedented degree of stability. If just plain traditional hip hop is your thing (as is pretty obvious by your name/avatar), then cool. But you can't go around saying Yelawolf is the worst at Shady when he's probably the most multifaceted the label has ever had, not to mention he can easily match anyone on the label toe-to-toe lyrically.
Sep 5, 2016 That's not true either. Their's plenty of labels that would given him the green light. Record labels are starting to realize that people are into different kinds of rap, and it sells too. Let's not also forget the first time around with "Radioactive". He could've gotten so much more exposure for Love Story...did you see a performance at any award show? Did you see him perform on a late night/talk show? Did you see any billboards with his name on it? Shady has all of the tools to make that happen, and yet they don't use it at all.
Sep 5, 2016 Royce Da 5'9 is a great solo artist He's puke with Slaughterhouse PHrhyme >>>> Slaughterhouse
Sep 5, 2016 For love story? Kimmel conan Tons of radio stations A bunch of bars/free till its gone/american you performances Tons of posters
Sep 5, 2016 Was talkin SH Royce s----s on SH as a group and as motherfuckin solo artists Layers underrated imo
Sep 5, 2016 That still doesn't stop Shady from being a terrible label...where's that "Glass House" album they were supposed to drop in 2014? Is D12 ever planning on dropping a 3rd album? Why does Em have so much passion for Skylar Grey's work, but hasn't been passionate about a Shady records project since "Welcome To: Our House"? Why don't they sign new people and try to become more like TDE? Less people, but greater focus on quality projects like Love Story?
Sep 5, 2016 To be more specific then , I meant excluding Eminem (we all know his talents). Slaughterhouse is never coming out and yelawolf is the other other roster artist, lol....so....
Sep 5, 2016 Yelawolf has said multiple times that it wasn't Shady, it was Interscope. Interscope was the ones that were putting their hand into the mix when it came to Radioactive, but Yelawolf agreed to compromise as well, and has taken a large part of the blame. If you're not a major artist on Interscope, they're not going to care to promote you. Also, And also, Saw a few of these around Southern United States while traveling last year. Trust me man. I dislike Shady Records as much as you do because Eminem is putting nowhere near as much effort into trying to promote his artists musically. I understand that. There's no real cohesion as a label the way it was back in 2003, or how other labels are doing now. But corporate-wise, I'm starting to see its not the Shady's fault, and more of Interscope's and the artists themselves. Look at Yelawolf, his work ethic is incredible and he's scheduled for two back-to-back releases on Shady. Slaughterhouse and D12, on the other hand, have no clue what the f--- they're doing and are constantly hoping in and out of solo projects without any real focus on a collaborative effort. That's the reason we're not getting anything. But f--- SH and D12. I rather get 5 more Yelawolf solo albums before I ever hear of Glass House again.
Sep 5, 2016 That's true. But Shady used to be such a boss label! They had 50, Obie, D12 and Dre helping out alot. It just sucks to see them in such a crummy state. They could've been as big as G.O.O.D music if they followed up on the Shady hype in 2011-2012.
