I'm so lost.. Like dead a--- serious lost as to how someone genuinely thinks young thug is a better rapper than the game. That's a joke to me.. Liking thugs music is one thing, but Jesus Christ. What was formerly known as rap has gone a different way I swear.

Inb4 "oh you're one of those guys who likes lyrics in an art form based on lyrics"

I'm fine with vibing to music that's lighter/less dense but when critiquing someone as a rapper.. It should be based on skill.. The skill to rap.. Not shout senseless repetitive unoriginal phrases that a 4 year old could think of while having an overly modified voice.

What's repetitive about the song freaky on the new mixtape. Or drawn down. Or calling your name?

Why talk about an artist you've never fully checked out?

I don't mean he's repetitive as in he repeats the same shot over and over I meant the B*** of his subject matter is simply "what's hot" now, meaning everyone is repeating the same s---. I don't think young thug raps half the time, thug couldn't flow like game either. And by no means am I claiming to be some expert on thug I haven't listened to all of his work I'm just going off what I've heard.

You generally "fully check out" an artist you don't like? I'm going off what I have heard. And what I've heard is borderline r-----ed in a lyrical sense. Like scary even... I get it you want to be different and like new/weird artists but you defend young thug like he's your father it's sad lol. You're at least 4 times worse than any Stan of any other artist I've encountered on this site

how am i worse than a stan when im coming from a point of having heard, written, and analyzed the dudes music and you're coming from just being ignorant and embracing it?

if you want to actually defend your opinions by giving examples and not just speaking in broad terms, ill gladly engage you. if not, f--- off

yeah i get paid to review things some times. becuase i dont listen to 4 tracks by an artist and act like i know what im talking about/

and in all of this, you still couldnt come up with an example to defend what you're saying. sounds like a thug critic 2 me

Like, the definition of a stan is not using logic to defend your opinion. How is that what im doing

A Stan doesn't just = someone you don't agree with

No Stan means obsessive, which you appear to be. You heard the song that the term is derived from? And my main complaint with the music I've heard from thug is that it's incredibly simple lyrically, usually has no coherent structure, and has about a weeks worth of replay value

Giving you the benefit of the doubt here, what is the best young thug song/verse in your opinion. I want to listen to thug at full potential and honestly critique it with an open mind. Like maybe not your favorite verse or song but one you feel is the best

you know thats actually a style of writing right? and each line in that verse, whether it's serious like "blood all over my timberlands," or a joke like the last line, stands on its own just fine...

and in the song it's delivered extremely well

so what exactly was your criticism? lol

I'm critiquing the senseless, simple, incredibly dumb lyrics. How is that hard to understand? You do know lyricism is part of rapping right? Who's a consensus top 10 rapper? Do any rap with this style? No? Think maybe there is a reason?
