Thug is a gold mine right now. Would rather have a boy in the game that knows how to market himself than a one-track rappity rap guy.

I'm not afraid to admit this. If you wanna survive in this industry, you gotta know what sells, or you will fizzle out, and that's the bottom line.

I mean, look at Hopsin, he tries too hard and doesn't change his gimmick at all, lack of promotion, not working with relevance until it's too late. Artists like Thug and whatnot seem to come outta nowhere and become superstars for many years, it's no coincidence. I mean, Keef might have tumbled over, but he's only a small exception to the rule. He spent too much money and got into s---. Most trap or drill rappers now all follow the whole scene right now that people are into, and it works. In 2010, there was no hardcore rap scene at all, so Raw became a underground favourite, and that was it. He could of at least put out a club hit. He was crying about getting dumped from a label, then makes his own only to do nothing with the fame from Raw but the same bs.

I'm just going off my head here, or I could probably make more sense, but you know.

I can see where you are coming from and I partially agree with what you said except, I think Thug is one of the most versatile rap artists today. He sounds nothing like other trap artists imo. Just look at songs like Pelican Fly, Mama I'm Sorry, and Udigg (etc.). Also he is constantly changing his sound.

I mean, I liked Hopsin's stuff for a while, but it started to get annoying after Pound Syndrome was announced and he pretended to quit from music. The new album only has like 1 or 2 decent tracks that sound fresh I feel like SwizZz should of broke out as well, but no one's heard from him in a long time now. Sucks, because I emailed the guy a few times and he's cool, but in 2015, people have to move on.

Hopsin's downfall was his pretentious attitude and not being able to keep his mouth shut. He is constantly saying stupid things and he doesn't seem to understand how corny or preachy he can come off as. His "real hip-hop" mindset definitely hasn't helped him.

I know this, that's why I said he kept it fresh and knew what would do well in the public eye. I hate rappers that have the same sound, like for real. Even if you are good at what you do, you gotta change it up...
