Can you please give me an in depth explanation as to how a line like the one you posted above constitutes any merit at all? What is it? Do you just like the way he says things? I'm having trouble following. I don't see how anyone can honestly believe this man is the best rapper alive atm.

About as much as I could take of Barter 6, in all seriousness. Just not my cup of tea. I like the song Halftime. I've heard the singles with him like Lifestyle. In my honest opinion, which may catch some flack, I don't even really think this guy is a rapper. I think this is an entirely, new, different sub genre of hip hop, which in that case, would be pretty cool for Young thug.

And to be quite honest, I'm sure this has been beaten into the ground, but I really just cannot understand what he's saying half the time.

Not hating or anything like that, I'm just trying to understand were the attraction stems from.

to be fair, he has over 500 songs you've never heard by him. He is most defintiely a rapper even in the most traditional sense

But yeah, he is also cultivating entirely new styles almost every other day.

I completely acknowledge the fact that I am not a fan, and have not heard most of his stuff. I'll talk about him in jest, like every other rapper under the sun, but I've no interest to put on a charade like some people on here who just spew "Young thug sucks, worst rapper ever" and have heard little to none of him. I recognize this newer, modern hip hop is a completely different style than 100% of the stuff I listen to. This guy just stumps me for some reasons unknown.

ehh i think it was always a duke track tbh, the leaked version starts out the same way...with Duke thanking Thugger/king slime and shouting out Alex haha

But for that mixtape version they lowered/removed most Rich g--- tags so idk

so maybe it was a thug/gates collab that they gave to duke a whiiile ago. Not something they recently repurposed for duke or something

i think blb said before that he didnt even like this track a lot so that might be part of the reason they gave it away (he seems to have a lot of say, along with alex, on thugs music). thugs verse is so good tho....and lmfaoo since I now know BlB is the n----- that showed Thug the Daneglo album where he's naked on the cover that line is even better for me

I actually really like Drawn Out after a listen. I really like the beat.
One common thread I've noticed is that he has some pretty stellar production. Does he keep a frequent producer or does he work with varieties?

a variety but its like the same 4-5 most of the time. Atlanta has so many talented producers. But he's also been doing very left-field stuff like this collab with jamie xx


If you didn't enjoy B6 as you said, I'd skip ahead to his most recent project -- Slime Season 2. I think you might actually find a couple tracks you love on there
