Dec 9, 2015 Thief? Overrated in that I don't think it's top 5 on the tape but its a fan favorite Same w like power on ss1. I like both songs a lot (I like power more than thief on most days) but neither are top 5 on their respective tapes
Dec 9, 2015 Hey I is give or take (it's a personal favorite of mine I could definitely argue it being better than thief (it's a song that starts w thug explicitly noting that his girls ready for a kid, and 2nd verse where he quite clearly lays out how and why he wants to give his girl a kid, but the hook is about him being a man whor- and nutting on her head instead...just crazy lmao). Hey I's content holds a lot more weight than people care to acknowledge My baby is lowkey one of the best hooks I've ever heard thug deliver. The entire vibe is fantastic. The way he comes in it's like he's coming out to do an encore at one of his shows haha (which makes Alex's placement of it even better). it's just a surreal song to me. His vocals show far more range than on thief, but content wise both are pretty equal Never made love is a song where the content is so strong that it's just automatically in all top 3 or 5 discussions, but I can definitely see why someone would be drawn to thief as it's a lot more entertaining. Even I don't find myself drawn to never made love too often, although it's powerful everytime I do hear it. But bro the "she had the same exact face as my brothers nurse, and he in a hearse, so I never looked at it for what it's worth, I never made love never made love" has got to be one of the most perplexing yet super vivid and extremely poignant lines I've heard all year. Without a doubt (and, as with everything thug related, it was recorded almost 2 years ago lol)
