Eminem A Missed Concept

    Going to try to keep this as short as possible while still attempting to clearly get my idea across.

    So, I think in the recent Eminem albums people missed a huge pattern or concept that really is genius. Relapse comes, this is pretty much pure Slim Shady except for a few songs (Deju Vu, Beautiful, etc..) Clearly, on Relapse Slim Shady, the fictional character, was essentially out of control with murders, rapes, drugs, and more.

    At the end of Relapse came My Darling. My Darling can be simply the most important song in Eminem's career until this point. It shows how after everything on Relapse, he comes to the realization that he is actually Slim Shady. They are one person.

    Recovery comes and Slim Shady is essentially absent. No Slim Shady songs, just pure Eminem and Marshall Mathers.

    Marshall Mathers LP 2 comes where it shares the same theme as the original as in most songs are him as simply the man Marshall Mathers, however there's one exception, Slim Shady is back. However, not like before. Bad Guy shows again Eminem dealing with Slim Shady, however coming out victorious. At this point, it further confirms that he recognizes Eminem and Slim Shady are equal, they are one.

    Evil Twin comes and for the first time, ever, in his entire career, he has control of Slim Shady. It's his dark side that he can use when he needs. It no longer controls him. The drugs, hatred he had, and so many more things are now controllable by Eminem, as Slim Shady is no longer a figure that is uncontrollable. He has matured.

    I don't think Eminem's music will ever be the same again. And that's not a bad thing. He has completely matured as a person and an artist. ShadyXV confirms he has the writing and technical skills that are simply unmatched, regardless if you enjoy the songs or not.

    Discuss. Prove me wrong. Counter my idea. But I think this is something few people picked up on and is a major theme.

    @Zep I wrote this myself. Yes, I'm currently bored enough out of my day to type this.

    @Young Sinatra I don't know what HHS is. Is it another forum? The only other forum I'm ever on is LinusTechTips, doubt anyone knows what that is though.

    this seems like a large stretch. I doubt this was ever Em's plan or concept. people seem to look too much into his work to try and excuse the flaws or changes.

    about what you said with "My Darling" being the most important song: it can't be. first, it was recorded before relapse was even a thing. same with Careful What You Wish For and Beautiful. plus, if it really was that important and meant for people to pick up on something, it would probably have been on the final album and not just an online bonus track.

    Yes, is another forum.

    I think you are exaggerating, but your theory fails for this little detail: My Darling is not in the standard version of Relapse, as the album was conceived. Was a bonus track which you needed to unlock with a code in the official website of Eminem.

    Maybe I'm off about My Darling, who knows. Even if My Darling wasn't in the picture though the theory would still work. Maybe it just falls into place well.

    I don't think I'm over-shooting this. Music in the end is really what you make of it right? I mean everyone takes something different from a given song or artist.

    Maybe he didn't mean for it to be such a big theme, or maybe he did. But I think it's something that's at-least worth a thought.

    Thinks its funny when people say "Eminem has matured".. have you not heard MMLP2 or SHADYXV? lmao

    sure he can make mature-er songs but he hasnt matured. hes still 19 in his mind lol

    Dude I had a weird like "I'm over thinking this" moment when I fheard the song oh no randomly one day last year. He says: first I re up then I relapse (obviously referring to those two albums), go to rehab (recovery) then I detox (obviously detox which should've dropped around this time) when I see doc, then I'll be back with the sequel (h--- the sequel), repeat the cycle (mmlp2) ... Its like he laid out the next few years haha. Then I realized I was just high and over thinking things... Which you may be doing also haha
