I have EA access so Im able to play this now and figured I'd share my thoughts. I can only play through the prologue and chapter one of the campaign, but it seems very interesting. Killing people nets you zero points, the gsme(so far) seems to favor you arresting people. The arrest mechanic is neat, flash your badge to make enemies freeze(you can make up to three people freeze at once) and move in for the arrest. These were tense moments. If you don't train your gun on one of the enemies they will try to draw their weapon, to counter this you must switch back and forth between them. To add more incentive for arresting people, there are certain criminals with warrants out, arresting them nets you more points.
Riding around in a police car as the passenger was pretty cool. At stop signs you can hear people on the corner talking, then see them shut up when they realize you're watching them.

On to the multiplayer. When I played the beta I hated it. I had no desire to buy this game. But having access to all the maps and modes has changed my mind. Blood money is so much fun. Police and criminals battle over a stack of money. The police want it for evidence and the bad guys want it for themselves. This makes for some intense firefights. You can also steal money from the other teams vault as well.
Rescue was the other mode I played some of. There are no re spawns in this mode. As the police you must rescues at least one hostage or eliminate all enemies. As the criminals you cannot allow any of the hostages to be rescued. Approaching a room where a hostage is is exciting to say the least. Knowing when you open the door there could be an enemy on the other side waiting for you made my palms sweat lol. Rushing in is not advised and teamwork is a must.

The animations for the multiplayer seem much smoother than they did in the beta. It also feels like you are running when you run, in the beta it felt like I was floating everywhere. The guns feel good too. In the beta it felt like I was firing air soft rifles, in the actual game it feels like I'm firing a powerful rifle or shotgun. Overall I'm happy I started playing this and will probably pick this up when it comes out Tuesday.

I'm considering purchasing it Tuesday. I don't have an online shooter since I got rid of CoD: Advanced Warfare. I found the beta very fun, especially the hardwire mode.

I got a gift certificate and some reward points so I might cut that 80 dollars down to 40 for it.

EDIT: @Heisenberg are you thinking of picking it up or nah?

I'm not sure this can replace battlefield 4 for me for an online shooter, I love bf4 lol. But I must admit after playing this for a few hours today it's definitely fun. Hardwire mode was my least favorite in the beta, but the rest of the modes are pure enjoyment.

Bad Company 2 was AMAZING. I was upset that I bought it so late (April 2011) literally like 2 days before PSN went down for a month. It was SO FUN.

BF3 was good, I enjoyed it. Until they brought that rented server s--- in. I just wanted to play normal conquest on a normal map. They messed it all up with mixing the modes and not having certain maps in. It was a brutal mess.

BF4 was alright, I enjoyed it. But a lot of one sidedness happened in Rush. Where literally teams would be pushed right to their spawn points. Conquest wasn't bad but it didn't exactly pull me right in.

Hardline though different certainly was fun. I didn't expect much as my BF experiences have kind of dropped since BC2 (my favourite obviously). I know this one isn't made by dice but it was just so sick playing the beta. Sniping pilots out of the chopper while running to hijack a car. Or sniping the driver as he's trying to hot wire. Pulling up driver side and shotgunning the driver. Man, so fun. Running over people trying to take your car out. It brought me back to when I played free roam in GTA 4 with friends online. Controlled hilarious chaos.

I actually really enjoyed the beta. Only thing I hate about BF games is the lack of teamwork online. Unless you're playing with a group of fiends, not too much fun playing with randoms.

^ I play almost exclusively as a lone wolf. Sometimes I get lucky and have a squad that works together, most of the time I just go where the fighting is. The amount of insane moments I've had playing bf4 is mind boggling to me lol. Moments where I stop for a second and think "how the f--- did I survive that?" So much fun.

@Clive I totally get where you're coming from with hardwire now lol. It is fun to pull along side a car, hang out the window and wipe out 3-4 ppl not paying attention lol. I don't play a lot of rush in bf4. I mainly play conquest and carrier assault. Bf4 is the only game I've ever played where I hardly touched the vanilla maps. Out of 700 hours playing I may have spent 30 hours on the vanilla maps.

Just got and I love it so far.

Only thing that irritates me is I was suppose to get 3 gold battlepacks for preordering it and I downloaded them and installed but were nowhere to be found

Picked it up today. Put my PS4 in rest mode hoping it would install while I was at a friends..... NOPE so came home hoping to play some online only to see 5% of the game installed after reactivating my console.

EDIT: Just checked, it's at 85% so looks like I'll dig into it tomorrow. Looking forward to it the beta was super fun.

So I played about 3 hours of the game tonight. I was amazed I did that but I have some thoughts below if you guys are interested.

-Overall cut to the chase here would I recommend paying 80 dollars (after taxes in Canada) for this game? No... reasons below.
-I had a great time with the beta. It was fun and different from BF3 or BF4. I'm more of an infantry based player in BF games. I don't really do tanks, jets, helicopters etc. So this game is definitely more fitting for my style.
-I played Heists, hardwire and blood money. Blood money was pretty fun to start. The mode has both teams having a vault. In the middle is a stash of money. You need to collect the money and drop it off in your vault. You can take regular money, or steal money from the opponents vault (worth more). If you k--- a guy with money he'll drop it all over. So it's almost better to just do this. The game mode was fun to start... but then I noticed teams would just camp around the middle money and play TDM rather than the objective.
-Heists weren't bad but way difficult compared to the beta.
-Hotwire was good.... however, it seems they took out one detail I LOVED during the beta... that is shooting pilots and car drivers. In the beta it was amazing having a car driving only to snipe the driver killing him and stopping the hotwire. I Did this tonight REPEATEDLY and all I got was "vehicle hit" and 10 points. It was a bit aggravating as now you can legit just drive over people. You don't have to worry about getting shot and dying. If people are hanging out of the windows they can be head shot and killed. But if they stay in the car they are invincible it seems. Almost like the vehicles got bulletproof glass now.
-Overall the mechanics aren't as polished as BF3/BF4.

    Final thoughts
The game is fun... However, there's something about it that just makes it feel empty. Like, I don't know if I'll last playing this game for week let alone months. Maybe it's because I'm on the beginner guns and haven't really looked at the unlocks but it just feels very repetitive right now. There's 9 maps and I only got to play 4 of them in my 3 hours. Mainly b/c I would play a few rounds of one game type and change to a different type. The maps got a bit meh.

I haven't tried conquest small, conquest large, crossfire or rescue.

-If I had to rate it out of 10, I'd give it a 7.5.

    Any questions ask away!

I've officially renamed this the "Clive plays BF: Hardline" thread hahaha.... but more thoughts.

-K I RETRACT my statement of shooting pilots or drivers. You definitely can do this....However, it is not as frequent as the beta. They most likely changed this after the feedback of the beta.
-Hardwire is definitely my favourite mode. I played for another 2 hours tonight of strictly Hardwire. Had a blast!
-WOOT WOOT IT'S DA SOUND OF DA POLICE....WOOT WOOT

    Update grade to 8/10.

@Clive have you played the campaign? I'm loving the campaign so far. I like how they present it as a cop drama on tv with the "previously on hardwire". I always like going through the campaign first before I dive head first into the multiplayer, because once I do I'm not going back to the campaign. I'm loving this game so far. Only gripe I have about it is how inconsistent it looks. Sometimes I think "d--- this game is beautiful " and then a car will go by and it looks like something from ps2 era; kinda takes away from the immersion from time to time.
I saw on kotaku last night a video of a guy pulling off a headshot with the zip line haha. I'm gonna have to try that.

Sadly I have not and TOTALLY agree with this. There have been games where I dive right into multiplayer and don't even bother with the campaign. One HUGE game for this was Uncharted 2. I only played it online and never played the campaign which was amazing I've heard.

I may do the story mode though because I have heard that it's actually new and interesting. Like, you can arrest bad guys or go in guns blazing. I know I'm going to go for the stealth option. I may touch on the story mode when I'm getting a bit bored with online.

Hardwire has definitely won me over though. If you have PS4 and you're in a car with a guy that is honking along to the beat of WOOP WOOP ITS DA POLICE, then you are most likely playing with me hahha. I'm glad for the purchase, the first night of playing I was a bit weary due to not getting different maps and such. Heists in the beta seemed to be better...but it could just be because I played on that bank map so much you got where to go. On the new maps you're unsure, as well the dark settings are very tough for me to see enemies. I hammering down on R1 to spot people in the dark.

I hope to play some more today. It's been fun so far!

people were acting so annoyed and surprised that the xbone and Ps4 versions have different resolutions, but like... why? it's not like a year later their hardware's changed. this shouldn't come as a surprise, it should be expected. at least until dx12 arrives.

^ I'm aware of that lol, but every other game I've played has looked much better consistently. Imo bf4 blows it away. I have an Xbox one so idk how much better/worse the ps4 version looks and frankly could care less. Idk why people get caught up on the specs of the two, go with what you prefer.

@Clive I suggest you go through the campaign. Stealth is the only way you earn points. Arresting people is cool and trying to arrest 3 people at the same time is exhilarating and tense. There's been a couple of times I've been jumped by two of the three guys, not training my gun long enough on them and they pull their weapons and start blasting.

Man, switched my guns for the mechanic class (I've been using this class the most) to MKX for Criminals and UMP for cops, excellent guns! I played for a few more hours today. A lot of heist today... it's actually really good.

I'm really enjoying the game now and justify my purchase. Once you get used to the modes and the gameplay it's very fun.

I just played 3 rounds of hotwire and d---! You earn cash like crazy. I hated this mode in the beta but enjoyed the h--- out of it just now. I'm with you @Clive I definitely stand behind this purchase. I can see hundreds of hours of playtime in my future haha

You should, I bought it for 40 after all the reward points and gift certificate. I'm having a blast with it. Blood Money is the best mode. Heists are fun. Hotwire was great.... However, people are now jut using it as TDM by setting up braching charges and waiting for cars to drive over them to detonate (like C4 in previous games) so it's a bit annoying now.

@Heisenberg let me know if you get it. I'm down to play. Been actually putting in some serious time on this game. Played 2-3 hours 5 times already since it's dropped. Very fun.

I started out as a mechanic, couldn't play as operative (medic) for some reason. Think forced myself to play Operative yesterday and shiiiit it's my fave class. I was bummed I didn't like it at first because the gun just wasn't good for me. As soon as I unlocked Holo sites it's been way better. As well have always loved reviving teammates in past BF games.

I HATE running over breaching charges haha. I've been using sabotage a lot recently and it's always fun seeing so,someone take a car in Hotwire, drive 5 feet and then boom! They never knew what hit them. I also unlocked the rpg for the sedan so I set up somewhere with a lot of traffic and blow s--- up.
