like my headlights thread, this thread is to talk about a song that was supposed to be classic

again, amazing beat...amazing hook...and probably has the best poetic lines Eminem ever rapped

this is pure raw talent...the imagination involved is amazing, yet...the same song has these lines
It's like an enormous asth-ma
Thunderstorm has passed ya
You weathered it and poked it's eye out
With the thorn bush that you
Used to smell the roses
Stopped to inhale, can't even tell your nose is, stuffed

asides from the lyrics, you should listen to the flow of it..by far the worst flow on all of mmlp2

Although today you may weep cause you're weakened
And everything seems so bleak and hopeless
The light that you're seekin'
It begins to seep in
That's the only thing keepin'
You from leapin' off the mothafreakin' deep end

i cringe everytime this part comes in..esp the motherfreakin part

overall..the verses were very very lazy...up until the masterpiece that was the third verse...and the annoying part is that the song msg is POWERFUL...he just completely dropped the ball

tbh I think Ems biggest problems with songs like Beautiful Pain, Monster, KND ect is that before his emotional songs had emotion behind them such as The Way I Am. Now he sounds like he's making the song just to make it, He now does edit and blend together his takes to make it seemless maybe that takes away the emotional aspect idk.

I made my thread where i thought it was better than any song he has made since recovery basically. You are right in some aspects. The song honestly had the potential to be one his best songs ever. With that said, I still think its an amazing song

I 100% agree, had the potential to be something absolutely beautiful but was ruined by lame punchline attempts and bad flows.
The "mothafreakin..... DEEP END" part hurts me because it's like the cringiest thing on the entire album

idk, y'all go to deep into s--- sometimes lol, thats like one of the best songs on the album, that whole album was a let down an I was happy af that we at least got a few good songs on 2nd disc, I thought it was a good song. his weird new flow actually worked on that song imo
