Mar 1, 2015 I don't know about you guys but I usually prefer the heels, sure there are some exceptions and some guys are great whether heel or face (Punk, Rock, Austin, etc). Anyways here are some of my favorites. This is one of my favorites, Shawn was f---in great here. Obviously Montreal hates him cuz the screwjob and Shawn played it perfectly and got them all riled up. Teasing the crowd with Bret Hart's music was amazing, and then he did it again with Hogan's music too. This one's pretty crazy, just the dudleys insulting the crowd like crazy and even going face to face with some fans and challenging them. Gotta see this if you love heels and haven't watched it before. This next one was (I think) the beginning of Rock playing up his hollywood character, did a great job acting like an a------ and getting heat. This last one is maybe Punk's best promo imo, I'd say it's better than the initial pipe bomb promo. Just great all around, Punk's amazing on the mic. I'd be curious to see what you guys think, post some of your favorites.
Mar 1, 2015 I'll look for links tomorrow but Austin had some classic promos during his heel turn. Proof that a Cena heel turn needs to happen. And of course Paul Heyman during the Invasion era.
Mar 1, 2015 Some good choices so far, totally forgot there was an NWO with HBK, Xpac, Nash and Show lol. It must not have lasted long. I'm gonna have to find some good Orton promos cuz I know he can be pretty vicious as a heel. Triple H too although he can be boring at times, but he can also be a great heel.
Mar 1, 2015 Great choices @Noid , Triple H is definitely one of the best heels imo. It's funny to me when he's a face cuz you always know he won't stay a face for long lol, always seems like he enjoys being the bad guy. So I'd be just watching waiting for a heel turn lol. That heel turn on HBK surprised me at the time though cuz I think it was like right after DX got back together, thought they'd ride it out a bit. But I guess summerslam was coming up and HBK wanted HHH as his 1st opponent back, so it had to happen quick. Speaking of heel tactics, I also loved when after the match and HBK won, it was a big feel good moment with Shawn winning his 1st match back in 4+ years, and then HHH comes from behind with the sledgehammer lol.
Mar 2, 2015 @Bleed , gotta give you credit for predicting Bray would make it big a while ago, or at least I think that was you who said that. I remember someone(i think you) saying Bray would eventually face Taker at Mania and I thought they were crazy since he hadn't done anything at that point and it seemed Taker didn't have much longer, but s--- you were right lol. I like Bray and would normally like to see him win this match, but I think it'd make Brock's win over Taker seem less important and even devalue the streak a little bit. Taker needs to win at Mania this year imo, wouldn't look right to have 2 L's in a row. I wouldn't be upset if Bray wins but just think the logical choice and the choice WWE will make for historical purposes will be Taker winning.
Mar 2, 2015 Yea, I believe that was me..lol I know I said it a few times on SL. Also, I agree.. I mean I want Bray to win, but a taker victory..could still make Bray look strong..although, Brock's victory was for the streak..and if Bray wins..it could be for his career. It would have to be sold good on tv, but I know Taker and Bray can do it.
Mar 2, 2015 YES! Agree on all points. And how great HBK sold the shot the back. Is HBK or The Rock the best at putting people over?? I remember Rock doing like 10 flips after he got the Stunner.
Mar 2, 2015 Y2J's heel work from his 2007 run on was the peak of his career, imo. Bigger than WCW Jericho and Attitude era
