Exclusive: "People are going to be surprised," DJ Speed says of Dr. Dre's forthcoming material. "He got some s--- coming out."

DJ Speed, who worked with Dr. Dre in the 1980s when they were both affiliated with Ruthless Records, says that Dr. Dre will be releasing new material in 2015.

“Right now, he’s really motivated,” DJ Speed says during an interview that premiered in the DX Daily today (November 5). "People are going to be surprised. He got some s--- coming out. Not Detox. You guys can let that go. Detox has been dead for two years. But he’s definitely been in the studio. He's definitely releasing music. Not this year.”

DJ Speed, who appeared on Eazy-E’s “Radio” single, says that several other N.W.A members will also be releasing music next year.

“I think next year’s gonna be a big N.W.A year,” DJ Speed says. "I think Cube’s kind of even pushing his album to next year ‘cause he doesn’t really talk about it too much no more. At first it was really hot, but then I think he’s going to push his ’til next year, too. Ren has an album coming out next year. Yella's working on something.”

DJ Speed says that he has a few unreleased songs that he will be releasing in 2015. "I got an N.W.A, the song ‘Just Don’t Bite It,’” he says of the 1990 N.W.A song about fellatio. "I got the original version that we couldn’t get cleared. It was a Herbie Hancock sample. That’s the funniest story. They called him, wanted to get it cleared. He said, ‘No’ literally two seconds into the song.”

DJ Speed says he has another song he did approximately two years ago with MC Ren called “Super West Coast.”

Kinda confused as to what it's gonna be exactly, probably not a Dre solo album but still any new Dre music is always a good thing plus I'm excited that the other NWA members are working on stuff. I'd absolutely love a few more NWA songs with the remaining members, seems more possible this year since that movie will be coming out. I'm still disappointed the group didn't reform with Snoop like they were planning on doing a while ago. Chin check was a f---in awesome song.

New Dre would be great. I've got my doubts but still think new Dre prod would be sick. and Speed saying "Detox died 2 years ago" actually makes sense, remember that big coachella build up to nothing?

So, if Detox is dead, maybe we'll have another situation where we hear throwaway beats on albums by NWA members/50/game/whoever the f--- else. Sort of like how it happened before in 00's.

chill, november was only 2 months ago and nobody has posted this yet.

Well the good news is he's apparently 'really motivated' so hopefully that means it actually happens. But yeah I guess we really can't trust him until it's official.

I think it happens though, Cube, Ren and Yella are working on something so it'd make sense if Dre does something too.

The fact that he says it's not Detox and that the N.W.A. biopic is coming out this year gives me some reason to believe this could be true, but it's Dre so of course I have to take it with a grain of salt. Anyone have a list of rappers who have said this exact same thing about Dre before? lol

Exactly. Hard to believe this video was 6 years ago now. I remember back around 2009-11 they were all pushing Detox hard PROMISING that it was really coming out this time. Half a decade later and Dre still hasn't done a god d--- thing. If you ask me this guy owes his fans a public apology. Coachella was basically his retirement concert. He should've announced that before doing it instead of continuing to bs his fans years later.

@Kon maybe edit the OP and add in the s--- about Dre building a new 10000 square foot studio under his house or some s---
    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbi...mansion-bought-Gisele-Bundchen-Tom-Brady.html

I don't know, just reminds me of when kush/inad dropped then it was just a missed-opportunity after another. Think it's possible we will hear Detox intended beats/songs as throwaways. Highly doubt we'll get a Dre album ever, c---- too old.

If we get new dre it will be a verse on Kendricks s--- or something for the nwa movie. I wish the world had more people like koolo to take peoples music. I really want to hear the 8764 songs made for detox over the last 15 years. It would really be interesting to hear every version of detox in order.

The first rumors of it started in 2002 shortly after the 50 Cent signing. I have magazines from 2003 saying it's the most anticipated album of the year lol. 2011 was the closest it came to actually happening, but then Dre bitched out and went back into hiding.
