Hate on Macklemore?

    I see a lot of people put Iggy and Macklemore into the same disliked rapper category. I can understand Iggy, but why Macklemore? Hoping I can get some feedback as too why this is.

    Corny and sometimes has an "above hip-hop" attitude.

    But he's much, much better than Iggy.

    Because he's an easy target as a mainstream, white, pop rapper. I think he's fine.
    The other main issue I see is whether he's sincere or just trend hopping.

    I thought I was the only one on this board who likes Macklemore, I also have only seen hate. I loved The Heist - I downloaded a bunch of his older stuff too after that. Definitely looking forward to the next Macklemore & Ryan Lewis album.

    I've listened to it alot. It's a fun and playful song about going thrift shopping whats wrong with that?

    He pretty good IMO. A little to poppy for my taste but no where near what Iggy is. Iggy is one of the worst rappers of all time in terms of content/lyricism. She can spit but then again so can Vanilla Ice and Nicki Minaj. And they're trash to. Listen to Otherside. Macklemore actually raps about real stuff. I didn't like how he tweeted his text to Kendrick for validation. That was pretty insecure and kind rubbed me the wrong way. But his interview with Hot 97 was great. I'd say check it out.
