May 14, 2017 ...beyond downloading FL What are some good entry-level tutorials? Any tips s80 creative fam can offer? Any and all help appreciated
May 14, 2017 How do I even go about sampling things, just DL the song and cut it down to the specific part I want? Or is there like a better way producers use?
May 14, 2017 i use to just cut it up in audacity but im sure there's better ways. I think a program called Maschine does it but its expensive
May 15, 2017 busyworksbeats on youtube has some tutorials, never watched him for producing his mixing tutorials I did tho
May 15, 2017 just start out by looking up [rapper/producer you like] beat tutorial on youtube they're p easy to follow if you want to get into sampling just google sampling tutorial or if you want to learn synths or whatever just google [thing you want to learn] tutorial theres a s--- load of info out there id recommend this thing http://www.musiciansfriend.com/keyboards-midi/akai-professional-mpk-mini-mk2 i find it gr8 im pretty beginner myself but it has drumpads to thump out your drumline and it has a bunch of knobs for different effects and a competent piano section and a pitch shift joystick. great for beginners.
May 15, 2017 just walk up to her say hi and see where it goes. Have you taken high school health? Edit: my bad thought thread title say "reproduce"
May 15, 2017 Ok I was watching a reproduction tutorial vid and now my d----s stuck in the disc drive what do
May 15, 2017 d---. Personally i learned from a baboon documentary on discovery channel. Google that maybe?
May 15, 2017 aight well, theg and tylerwaves had some good advice, so i'll just drop this in here https://forum.sectioneighty.com/official-production-t-t-t-thread.t50040#post-1393820
May 15, 2017 Also, to start you off on FL you can download/torrent packs that have much better kicks hats snares etc than comes with the program. Like just search '[insert artist/producer] drum pack' or whatever.
May 15, 2017 Learn some basic theory; BusyWorksBeats is s--- at making beats but his music theory tutorials are pretty good and all you need from him; just ignore him when he promoting his products. I highly recommend you get ominsphere, there's a lot of good presets on there that you can make cool melodies with. Metro, Southside, Murda and a lot of other producers be using omnisphere too. It's pretty much all I use too. I just select a preset and make it sound different by applying different effects on it. Reddit for drumkits https://www.reddit.com/r/Drumkits/ (If you into making trap beats I can recommend you some kits) Soundtoys & Fabfilter have some cool effect plugins you can use on your sounds Waves got some really good plugins for mixing Internet Money channel is pretty cool too, it ain't really informative and they always trying to get you to purchase their products but you can learn from their workflow. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC86rJVj3W8CKt1PLHIx_TdQ/videos Been producing for a year and a few months, best advice I can give you is to just spend more time inside of FL studio rather than watching tutorials. Some other tips is to keep your 808s in the same key as the melody and to turn your melodies down instead of raising the drums to make it slap (took me a long a--- time to figure this out )
May 15, 2017 another random thing: experiment. try and mess around with some genres or just a style in general that's out of your comfort zone, even if you're not planning on producing it in the long run it only helps to have more options when it comes time for you to sit down and work on your real stuff
