Jul 29, 2015 This is not a joke thread I believe Eminem gave us some subtle clues in Bad Guy that Matthew may have grew up to (ironically) be a h----------. Not sure if this has been discussed on here before. Notice these hints; "Dragged to the back of a trunk by one of your fans Irony's spectacular, huh? Now who's a fa----, you punk?" Chalk this up to Matthew simply hating Eminem and wanting to insult him by calling him a fa----, but notice how he says it as if the tide has changed--relating back to Eminem's lyrics and his frequent use of calling people fa----s. This seems like something that someone who was genuinely offended by the word being tossed around would say. He goes on to call Em a punk, too. It's like if a gay kid was being picked on at school and he walloped the bully and said 'How's that for being gay?!'. It's phrased to where the remark comes from the user on a personal level. Also notice the use of Irony-- Irony that Matthew, a fan and Stan's brother, is acting in a plot to k--- Eminem and put him in the trunk (reference to '97 Bonnie & Clyde). However-- could this possibly also be relation to the irony that Matthew is gay? "Well gotta go, almost at the bridge Ha ha, big bro it's for you, Slim this is for him And Frank Ocean; oh, hope you can swim good Now say you hate h---s again!" This is better evidence because it isn't an odd phrasing. Notice how Matthew blatantly brings up Frank Ocean (who came out as being gay), in order to connect the line to hoping Marshall can Swim Good. Besides the obvious reference, why would Matthew do this for Frank Ocean? Because Frank Ocean is gay and Eminem has said bad things about gay people? I doubt it-- I think it's because Matthew is doing it for h---------- people in general. All of this is topped off by Matthew daring Eminem to say he hates h---s again, as he plummets to his drowning death. Matthew seems very offended by not only the story of his brother, but also the homophobic lyrics in Eminem's music. I think that if Em did intend for Matthew to be gay and these are legit hints at that, that it is pretty genius. The underlying idea that Matthew, brother of super fan Stan and also a super fan of Marshall himself, is a h---------- is a cool idea. That along with the fact that a h---------- is the one to k--- Eminem in the end is neat, too. Plus it was done greatly because Eminem didn't shove it in our face like he has tended to do post-hiatus. Eminem has said several times that the theme of MMLP2, specifically, the theme of album opener Bad Guy is that all of his past is coming back on him. Eminem's worst nightmare come true. It's great symbolism that all the supposed gay-bashing he did in his lyrics contributed to his demise. What do you guys think? Is Matthew gay? Do you think it was obvious he is supposed to be gay, or debatable?
Jul 29, 2015 It's a fictional character made up by someone who talks about toilets flushing in the same song
Jul 29, 2015 Your point is? I don't get it-- are you trying to tell me something you think I don't know? lmao. I think Eminem crafted the fictional character Matthew to be gay and made it ever-so prevalent in the song.
Jul 29, 2015 Thanks bro, I feel like this didn't get talked about enough. I don't know, I get the feeling that the thought was honestly put into this underlying ideology. Matthew being gay just works too much, along with the lyrics exhibited.
Jul 29, 2015 Matthew was revealed in the final verse as a symbol of all the hatred people perceived from the original MMLP One of the groups targeted were h----------s, so that's why those lines were included
Jul 29, 2015 I believe I made the thread back on TRShady. There could've been another one made by someone else, too. I just thought it was time to be discussed again in a more clear way.
Jul 29, 2015 It's similar http://forum.trshady.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=169369&sid=3c16da76c0e11639bc3ec7dabf54967d
Jul 29, 2015 Yes but picking apart the symbolism mumbo-jumbo in Eminem's last verse is a little bit too easy considering he basically revises the entire lore of the characters anyway, right? I thought it was interesting to analyze the possibility that Matthew, the character himself, is a h----------.
Jul 29, 2015 My post on the first page of that topic; "Stan was gay but more in an obsessed fan kind of way. He eat, slept, and breathed Eminem and would leave his pregnant girlfriend to have Eminem with him at all times. However, I believe Matthew is an actual h----------. I've had this theory for awhile, but I believe this is why even though he is a fan of Eminem himself he seems to take the homophobic parts of Eminem's music more personal "Now who's a fa---- you punk?/Now say you hate h---s again!""
Jul 29, 2015 Why don't you call and ask him? His number is 1800-I'm-A-d-ck-Sucka, I love to s--- a d-ck
Jul 29, 2015 Is Matthew Mitchell gay? Is puke lukewarm? Should Casey Anthony do p---? Find out on the next episode on DBZ
Jul 29, 2015 If it adds context to the song or themes relating to what is being said...sure, I don't see why not? lmao
