But if you've seen my Illuminati thread you'll know Kendrick is a prominent member and I believe, once Lupe started talking out against Obama and questioning the government and 9/11 etc. The Illuminati came together and created Kendrick with the sole purpose of showing Lupe what he could have been. Lets start off with their Origin story - Lupe is a good kid that comes from a mad city (Chicago) Kendrick is a good kid that comes from a maad city (Compton) Now that's not entirely convincing so lets look deeper, at their music. Lupe was known for being a lyricist that made music that could be played on the radio. He was respected by the streets and the nerds. This is exactly the route Kendrick has chosen to take. Lupe was known for his conceptualization, something that has become a staple of Kendrick's music. But here's where it gets really weird - In 2015 Lupe came out with an album called Tetsuo and Youth, an album that was meant to be played backwards. In 2017 Kendrick comes out with an album with the exact same concept, an album that was meant to be played backwards. Now here's where it gets even weirder, the main Alter Ego that starts off the album is Kung-Fu Kenny Who else do we know that's into Kung-Fu that's right If that wasn't convincing enough, here's the final piece to the puzzle. Before the release of Kendrick's reversed album Lupe went on Hot 97 to talk about a few things, Kendrick included. He talks about how he believes Peter Rosenberg is a 'Kendrick Nut Hugger'. But besides that he also talks about an song that had continuous play on Hot 97 And what does Kendrick name his album... Spoiler Stay Woke

Jokes aside the comparison is very like for like, only difference is Kendrick has some of the best music engineers + producers in the industry that amplify his already incredible writing talents...Lupe had a dope taste in indie rock but never had a Mixed By Ali in his corner.
Apr 4, 2018 Lupe just needed better backing any way. Not everyone can say they have Kendrick Lamar's engineers and producers. Kendrick doesn't exist for the sole purpose of eclipsing Lupe's career and the formula for success that he used by targeting the same type of ubiquity in his diverse demographic of aficionados. Their motifs are similar, but not executed exactly in the same manner. There's a dichotomous dynamic to their slightly-discrepant idiosyncrasies. Comparative Methodologies Disregarded, Kendrick ended up having the superior catalog. I apologize for being so garrulous with this post, but I felt compelled to add my two cents. I've only argued with one of these artists on Twitter before, but I still respect both.
