    “When a water bottle hit his face, Cudi — filling in as a last-minute replacement for Kanye West, his collaborator-turned-rival who dropped out of the festival — had an expletive-laden message to fans: “I’m leaving” the next time an item hits me or gets thrown onstage.

    “Don’t [expletive] with me,” the 38-year-old artist said, according to a fan’s video from the show.

    About two seconds later, a bottle whizzed by his head; Cudi dropped the microphone and walked offstage, just about 30 minutes into his set, to the surprise of the thousands of fans at Hard Rock Stadium. Some booed, while others immediately chanted for West, who now goes by Ye. West eventually showed up in a surprise appearance Friday night, not long after Cudi left the stage.”

    It's a series of things, really. His biggest fans have coddled him and given him "The Halo Effect" since way before the period when he had to be admitted into the nearby psychiatric unit of a local Californian Hospital.

    When Drake responded to Cudi saying slick s---, everybody jumped on Drake's back because "Mental Illness is a Sensitive Subject". Why?

    Because anybody else could endure the same, but God-Forbid our darling paragon for the quintessentially misunderstood stoner loner who can't keep a boner up for the baddest b------s with the prettiest pantie-packed begonias (And that's no misnomer, Homer Simp-Sinners.) suffers such screech-halting fate.

    Him as a human being is an insufferable twat and pompously pious prick.

    His merely conceited and arrogant predisposition over-the-years has taken its toll on me personally.

    I was once a fan. That s--- ended, This Past Spring. Since The Nardwuar Interview, he's kind-of always been a pretentious douchebag.


    I've ignored it for far too long because he made exceptional music, once upon a time.


    Remember that Kid Cudi wasn't the first to have a mental breakdown and/or panic attack.

    I haven't watched the Nardwuar interview, but I watched his A Man Named Scott documentary and didn't get the same impression.

    His music continues to be of quality (not MOTM1/2, but likable, no doubt) and if people were able to tolerate kanye's ego for15 years before turning on him, then I find it difficult to believe that scott's at anything beyond 2004-level pompous kanye.

    Interesting to see everybody immediately label them as "Kanye fans"...like were the water bottle throwers interviewed after the incident and did they admit this or something?

    I mean, I'd imagine the venn diagram of Cudi fans and Kanye fans has a pretty large overlapping section so the headlines probably aren't technically incorrect , but idk, it seems weird to immediately demonize an entire fanbase because a few clowns threw some stuff and the collective crowd started chanting Kanye AFTER THE PERSON THEY CAME TO SEE BAILED. I'd literally be chanting for anybody to replace an absent performer if I paid for tickets.

    With that being said, the timing of everything (Cudi incident, Ye showing up during Durk's set, Travis making an appearance) is making for a pretty memorable festival - so the memory of just being present for Cudi bailing would almost be worth the ticket money.
