Mar 15, 2015 This song sounds like a classic now compared to his current material. But I remember when it first came out I wasn't really a fan of it. Thought it sounded like a throwaway track from the SSLP. Shows that we used to take Em's greatness for granted back when he had a flawless catalog.
Mar 15, 2015 I know that now, but the first time I heard it was on the Next Friday Soundtrack. At the time I thought it was a new song just for that project.
Mar 15, 2015 Pulled the Mac 10 out, stuck it in her face, shut your yakin mouth before I blow the brains from out the back ya scalp
Mar 15, 2015 "And colliding with an 80-year old lady with groceries There goes the cheese, eggs, milk and Post Toasties" "Marshalls going back to his food references guess hes making Recovery 2 why doesn't he just die? "
Mar 15, 2015 If he released a track like Murder, Murder today with it being recorded within the past year or so, pretty sure a lot of us would die of disbelief.
Mar 15, 2015 I'm sure he'd even get hate for "colliding with an 80 year old lady" because hes trying too hard to be edgy again
Mar 15, 2015 No lol.... If you can't tell the difference of quality between Eminem's music now compared to back then, I honestly feel bad for you lol
Mar 15, 2015 No I just know the users on this forum well enough lol back when an SH music video came out that had like a 2 second appearance with Em smirking it got endless replies of how awkward it was so I'd expect replies like that from a simple line like that from current Em
Mar 15, 2015 Yeah but that's descriptive story telling, it's nothing like his food references or should i say metaphors he comes out with nowadays. "But they'll never ketchup to all this energy that I've mustard" is nothing like like the line in Murder Murder.
Mar 15, 2015 I almost gaurentee if he came out with a track any where remotely close to the quality of Murder, Murder, he'd get A LOT of praise on here. Like @fiddster said his food references here are NOT the same as the ones he's doing now lol. Not to mention his delivery/flow, his rhyming, pretty much everything was completely different when he made Murder, Murder. Eminem is criticized a lot now in days, some of it is ridiculous I agree but a lot of it has truth to it. It's not just blind hate as you're trying to make it seem.
Mar 15, 2015 Thats only one example but agree for the most part because some current lines that fit the same idea that aren't bad still get hate I'm not comparing past lines and metaphors to current just simply agreeing with what he said and quoting it with something that probably would be said @Enigma
Mar 15, 2015 I see where you're coming from, and people calling him awkward in the SH video is the perfect example. But I stand with @Enigma on saying most of its justified. There may be a small amount of people that blindly hate, but these are the 12 year olds that hate to go with the majority that you see commenting on old good Eminem songs on youtube with the same hate as they are clueless about music and try to follow the crowd because they see him as unpopular now etc. Plus on that awkward example, Eminem has always been awkward tbf, its just now people tend to point it out more now because they don't like the artist he is nowadays.
Mar 15, 2015 More conversations need to be like this reasonable but agree it goes either way honestly always good always bad there isn't pleasing everyone when it comes down to Eminem Agree he has always been awkward but imo two different ways especially earlier on he was way too immature and now in interviews he comes off too socially awkward
Mar 16, 2015 Left the keys in the van with a gat in each hand went up in east land shot a police man One of my favourite early Em tracks for sure. I slightly prefer the beat on the "Murder She Wrote" version but I love both
