    just look around for things that you could help people with. Any practice that you get is going to help in the long run. then you can do covers for songs and albums that you like and continue to expand..

    I just realized you might be talking about how to start all together which would be to d/l photoshop and or illustrator. Then just start playing around with things and following tutorials. It is a process and you will give up quickly if its something you don't really want to do.

    yeah thats what i wanna do and thanks for taking your time to respond. will you send me a link to illustrator? i have too old of an os for photoshop :emoji_slight_frown:

    can you do everything that you need to on illustrator?

    No, as a designer you need Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign for different purposes. Some people try to make due with photoshop only, which is possible but they just end up delivering garbage.

    I actually don't have illustrator at the moment but im sure you can find it doing a quick torrent search. Im not as familiar with illustrator as i am with photoshop but I don't see why you couldnt

    But if you just want to do mixtape covers I guess photoshop alone is good enough. The problem is when your client asks you for vector files.

    what are you on windows ME or something:ummmm:
    illustrator is gonna have pretty much the same requirements as PS, and they're for completely different things. IL is for drawing and PS is for effects/editing. just for starting out, unless you regularly draw s--- and want to get into digital illustration right away then PS is really the only option. i mean you can try free alternatives like paint.net or gimp but they're dog s---. idk if they'll run on older OS's either though.

    im on os x 10.8.5 but when i went to the photoshop website it said it was too old for some reason

    newest versions work on my laptop and i got 10.9.5 :dno: why not update? maveriks, yosemite and el capitan were all free
