Dec 10, 2025 Keep in mind it's under his universe but this is the first thing not made by Gunn so far, I really don't get as strong guardians vibes as everyone else is but I can understand the trepidation. I think they're gonna keep the drunk fuckup characterization of supergirl longer than the book did just for character arc purposes but idk. The casting so far has been pitch perfect and I like the director, cinematographer, and composer so I have high hopes.
Dec 10, 2025 That's like the first 15 pages of the book if that. It's actually a somewhat serious although situationally comedic space western. If you've ever seen True Grit it's literally just that with aliens and it rules. The only thing I'm going to complain about into the end of time though is that Bilqus Evely is a God at art and the book is so gorgeous that translating it into live action is going to result in it looking way worse than the pages she drew no matter what you do.

Dec 11, 2025 No idiot. I watch things I’m a fan of. That’s being normal. If I didn’t care about something I wouldn’t watch it. That’s why I don’t watch game of thrones or IT, or Sucession. Whether they are good or not. If the subject matter don’t intrigue me, why the f--- would I watch it?! That’s basic humanity. I’m a lifelong marvel fan, so yeah obviously I will watch marvel content.
Dec 11, 2025 i love all of zack’s stuff but i hate what other directors do with his stuff, hated the ww movies aquaman movies shazam movies black adam etc. all trash. but i’m probably one of the only people on earth who loved the flash movie. but i accept that. but you don’t like man of steel even tho nolan wrote it? you didn’t like the dark knight rises either? how about their animation? the killing joke? under the red hood? year one? caped crusader? the dark knight returns? you realize there is no one else making superhero material on this level. disney is just popcorn fodder for kids, and watching the reeves verse is like watching paint dry. i wish dc would start making movies i can be excited about again. im more hyped for avengers doomsday (mostly because of rdj) than any currently officially announced dc project, and that is kind of sad tbh

Dec 11, 2025 Supergirl trailer is very formulaic but I still have hopes for the movie, I just think modern trailer editing doesn't work on me anymore. I also don't think it accurately portrays the actual tone of the story cause the trailer seems to only be the first issue or two of the run shown.

Dec 11, 2025 I watched the Supergirl trailer. It’s not bad I guess. Does it make me interested in watching the movie though? Nope, not at all. I’m actually less interested in watching it than I was before. But tbh most trailers these days don’t really get me interested, a lot of them are pretty bland. I just sorta have to watch the movie for myself or see actual previews. Trust me, I wanna like this though. I think the idea of a Supergirl movie is cool. Hopefully they execute it correctly
