May 14, 2026 at 11:33 PM Would it be okay if I posted my pick next Sunday? Not this weekend, but the one after. All the attention will probably be on the Drake album anyway, and I don’t want to completely ruin his sales numbers Plus I haven’t even picked an album yet lol
May 14, 2026 at 11:36 PM @AOTWClub Apparently drakes releasing 3 albums, the review can combine all 3 together im not doing the pages separately lol f---ing stupid marketing dogshit
May 14, 2026 at 11:39 PM One of my complaints with Drakes music is that he's oversaturated himself so the fact he's flooding the market makes me think he's just gonna be going through the motions again instead of doing literally anything interesting. I have no expectations but it's still pretty disappointing and this is coming from a hater lmao
May 14, 2026 at 11:48 PM I agree. A double album or worse, a triple album is almost always a bad idea in my book. Usually it just means they didn’t know what direction to take the album in or what songs should’ve been cut. Rarely does it lead to classic or a fun sit down experience. That being said, i'm sure there will be some tracks worth saving. Or at least hope lol
May 14, 2026 at 11:51 PM As much as I hate on drake he usually is good for a few songs added to my liked playlist per album
May 15, 2026 at 12:08 AM Madvillain - Madvillainy This is a 10. Let's get that out of the way first. Arguably the most important "underground" rap album ever. I first listened to Madvillainy around six years ago, and I can't think of a better intro for both DOOM and Madlib. Although it isn't my favorite DOOM or Madlib album (I'm a much bigger Vaudeville Villain and Piñata guy personally), I still think it's essential for any Hip-Hop fan. "Accordion" is one of the best tracks in both their discographies. That beat is so simple, yet so eerie, and it has some of DOOM's best quotes ("Don't touch the mic like it's AIDS on it"). "Meat Grinder" has always been one of my favorites. That beat is so fun, and the Zappa sample is great. I'm just gonna name some of my favorites from this point on since I think that they're all stellar: Raid, America's Most Blunted, Strange Ways, All Caps. Now for some of my personal highlights. "Do Not Fire"! is a great little interlude, "Shadows of Tomorrow" is a nice Quasimodo track, Fancy Clown is a great piece from the always great Viktor Vaughn, and Rhinestone Cowboy is a stellar outro. I wanna give a special, SPECIAL focus to "Supervillain Theme". It's such a short interlude, but it fits the album's overall theme perfectly, and I absolutely love it. It's always great to revisit a classic after some time. Big thanks to @Evad for the pick FAVORITES: Every single track RATING: 10/10 @AOTWClub @Justin Trudeau
