I know that we're not reviewing MOH or Habibti anymore, but since they're so tied to the rollout, I'll give my brief thoughts before the proper review

Maid of Honour - I don't hate it...? The first few tracks were pretty fun, and I have a soft spot for dumb s--- so a song like "Cheetah Print" is relaly f---ing funny. I feel like it gets old after a while. Most of this album would go crazy on some loud a--- speakers.
Rating: 6/10

Habibti- I literally forgot what any of these songs sound like. My least favorite Drake songs are the boring ones, and this is his most boring project ever

Now, for the main course:

Drake - Iceman
This might sound a bit strange, but I was surprisingly excited for Iceman. For the first time ever, I was seriously looking forward to a Drake album. This is for a variety of reasons. Obviously, the 2024 beef is chief among them, but I had a feeling that something about this album would be "special" amongst Drake's others. For the first time in more than a decade, Drake is the underdog, I guess. Aside from delusional OVO fans, I don't think anybody expected him to beat Kendrick, and even then, I was very surprised by how well he carried himself before f---ing it all up with "THE HEART PART 6". Now, i don't really have any issue listening to records from the "loser" in a rap beef. I can still enjoy an album like Blueprint 2 even if Hov is the loser (although, "Takeover" is a much better song than "Ether" ). For me, I feel like the lawsuit shenanigans are what really taint my view on Drake's post-beef activities. It's pretty hard to take a guy seriously when he's literally using the legal system to win a beef lmao. I didn't really care for $$$4U at all, but "Nokia" is probably one of my favorite hits of the decade so far. So regardless, I was pretty excited to hop in.

For the record, I am a Drake fan. I sincerely believe that every project from So Far Gone to If You're Reading This It's Too Late is d--- good (shoutout WATTBA as well!). Albums like Take Care or Nothing Was the Same manage to have a pretty good blend of great Rap and R&B cuts and I can honestly say that I enjoy them a lot. Post-IYRTITL tho? Idk man. Starting with Views (which I haven't revisited in a while tbf), I feel like Drake has been struggling with bloat a lot. There are some great tracks on every post 2015 Drake record of course, but as a full album, I wouldn't say that they're especially great. As much as I love some of those TC and NWTS R&B cuts, I've always wanted a full on Drake rap record, and aside from Disc 1 of Scorpion and Her Loss I feel like we haven't really gotten that.

I think that Iceman delivers on a lot of fronts. Drake isn't an all time MC or anything, but I feel like his pen is pretty d--- strong here. You have a great intro in the form of "Make them Cry" and some absolute gems like "Janice STFU", "Ran to Atlanta" and "2 Hard 4 the Radio". "Make them Pay" has an incredible sample, and Drake does a pretty good job (I didn't expect him to bring up Palestine as a gotcha for Khaled, but a win is a win, I guess). I was a bit worried about how a song like "What Did I Miss?" would factor in over a year after its release, but I think it fit in pretty d--- well. I honestly think that this is Drake's strongest album since IYRTITL, and I never thought I would say that.

So, this is a clear cut 9 or 10 for me right? Not exactly. As I mentioned in the intro to this review, it is very hard to take Drake's beef talk seriously since he's literally suing Kendrick. This fact brings this album's enjoyment down quite a bit for me. Still, I very surprisingly enjoyed this.

Drake- Iceman Review

Its well known I dont like Drake, but I dont hate all his music. Over the years ive found him extremely annoying, as a Toronto Raptors fan I hated seeing him act like a f---ing r----- on the sidelines and act tough and intimidating when we all know hes a sissy.

But whats not known is that I enjoy when Drake's Rapping on certain songs, I hate when he sings in his boring monotone flow. I think the kids call him "melodic" but to me he sounds like a dying dog.

Anyways to the album, ive found Drake in the past has the potential to k--- intros. Fireworks, Over My Dead Body, Tuscan Leather are all good examples of this and on Iceman Drake finds that same level with "make them cry". "Dust" is a pretty solid track, the production is interesting and drakes rapping is on point.The production on "whisper my name" is top notch and the song itself isnt bad either. And when "STFU Janice" ended i became concerned this album was gonna get a high score.

BUT

In typical drake fashion its all downhill from there.
"Run from Atlanta" is not only cringy because Future and Molly are absolutely terrible but calling the song "Run from Atlanta" shows kendricks diss track is still on his mind.
"Shabang"'s production is fun but Drake annoys me on the song.
I kind of enjoy "Make Them Pray" i cant say much bad about it.
"Burning Bridges" is just terrible, like absolutely terrible.
The first half of "National Treasure" bangs, but the second half is awful especially the ice man nice man lyric, the beat change ruins the song completely.
"Bs on the table" is so boring.
"What did I miss" suffers from "National Treasure" symptom, banging first half and boring song ruining second half.
"Plot Twist" makes me ready to nap and at this point i cant wait for the album to end.
"2 Hard For the Radio" is cringy as f---, I just dont get what the f--- hes even doing at this point.
"Make them remember" is a Drake song id typically gravitate towards but I find the beat really boring, which makes Drake come across board while rapping.
"Little Birdie" is absolute dogshit.
"Dont worry" is just a typical boring Drake song where hes singing poorly and also rapping poorly.
"Firm Friends" what do people like about this? The beat isnt bad but like hes just so boring?
"Make them know" im so bored and glad its over. Guys tough guys trying to be intimidating act is wearing thing

I tried to like this album but its not good, he raps about the same s--- over and over again, he has literally nothing to say but the same thing a buncha different ways.

Score: 4.5/10

Marsh has never heard a song in his life he just looks at the views and judges based off that. He’s actually deaf.
