    Im in Blue Mountain Ontario this weekend and what a s--- weekend to go. Booked it a few months ago, just a smoke fest. Went to Sauble Beach and it was nice in the AM, we got lunch and walked outside and it was smokey as f--- lol now its just gross out.

    Justin Trudeau - Justin Trudeau's Summer Party

    I'm like half and half on songs i now so im interesed in how this goes. Also wanted to point out this is the first time I've seen someone use the spotify mix feature on one of these. Mr Trudeau is revolutionizing the game.

    Summertime is fun! Will Smiths rapping can be cringe a lot of the time but it works for me in this context, its charming. Production is actually pretty great and i like the hook, nice opener!

    Going into Set It Off is the hottest transition since Hunter Schafer. Not familiar with Kardinal Offishall but I'm always down for Clipse. Song goes hard, good beat that sounds of its time in a way that doesn't feel to outdated. Verses were nice.

    Bruv did you look up good transitions or something or is it just spotify cause this is kinda crazy so far. It's been a minute since i listened to Nelly, Batter Up is nice. Nelly doing what he does best, super catchy, super smooth. A bit too long but other than that, no complaints from me. Didn't expect a The Jeffersons intro being interpolated but it was dope lol.

    Mase is a bit of a blindspot for me, really like Feel So Good. f--- Diddy but he went kinda crazy with the Kool & The g--- sample here. Really like his voice and the rhymes! Feels like a good pool party/bbq song so it fits the theme perfect.

    Bro thought he can sneak more Nelly in here with St Lunatics. Midwest Swing is pretty dope, its a weird thing cause i feel like if it came out now I wouldn't like this kinda pop rap as much but there's something so charming about these kinda songs from the 00s. Just very fun.

    Luda can be hit or miss for me depending on my mood, but when he hits he hits. Saturday is fun! His delivery is very fitting here its very infectious. Don't have much to say here that i won't say for a lot of the other songs here but its solid!

    Yeah Bust A Move is just the f---in best man. Absolute classic. One of the most earworm hooks ever. Very silly verses but it really works. The bassline on here goes so crazy. Young MC's cadence is super catchy too. Beloved for a reason for sure.

    I forgot about Tipsy by J-Kwon man, beat is a little too abrasive with the farty a--- synths at some points. Song is still kinda great tho? Dance circle a--- song. Song that would make the whites go crazy at a trashy wedding type beat. Still pretty fun.

    Another Kardinal Offishall sing with The Anthem, its very obviously part of the sing but it sounds a bit too big to me? The sports chant hook is kinda silly but it works as being hooky. Probably one of my least favorites so far but it's grown on me and i can see it getting stuck in my head a lot.

    Speaking of corn we have Smash Mouth, this song f---ing rips and no one can deny it. I known every word for years. Shout out Shrek, shout out Mystery Men, shout out Rat Race. Loadbearing song for the 2000s, movies especially.

    Teenage Dirtbag also rips, funny that i dont feel like i know any other Wheatus songs cause this has been played everywhere. Very catchy loser rock, love the vocals and the main riff. Classic.

    Semi-Charmed Life is a safe Third Eye Blind pick byt I'm not complaining as this whole album is great and this song has never gotten old to me. One of the best songs about taking m--- for sure. Sucks Stephan Jenkins seems like such a weird a------ cause he was dropping bangers for a minute.

    Smooth is another b-----r, a bit overplayed but it doesn't change how solid of a track it is. I've always liked Matchbox Twenty and Rob Thomas' voice and its surprising how well it works over Santana's playing. Good a--- song.

    Everything i said before about Someday by Sugar Ray from the MM tape stands. Great, smooth b-----r. Very good song.

    I f---ing love white guy reggae. Sublime is awesome, Smoke Two Joints is one of my favorites of the tape and a great closer. Good a--- choice. I still need to listen to their new album I heard Bradley Nowells son does a great job as the new singer and sounds exactly like his dad.

    Overall very fun tape, one of the most true to the prompt. And if this is the last one a very fitting end to this round!

    Favorite Songs: Summertime, Set It Off, Batter Up, Bust A Move, Tipsy, All Star, Teenage Dirtbag, Semi-Charmed Life, Smoke Two Joints

    RATING:
    8.5/10

    Thanks man! The Anthem by Kardinal is big in Toronto at sports events, figured you guys didnt know him so I threw that one on there.

    I think I did a few of the mixes then I forgot to finish it so some of them spotify did them.

    Glad you liked it!

    Wreckless- Three Layers of h---

    This mixtape is great! I love that @Wreckless is a big rock guy. Id heard about 1/3 of these songs and liked all the ones id heard before and there wasnt really a miss for me on here.

    I liked the first and third layer the most, but i actually enjoyed the middle part of the album too.

    Billy Talent was huge in my teen years so im super familiar with them, and Try Honesty is one of my favorite songs by them!

    Anyways this mixtape is amazing

    My favorite songs are: freakin out, try honesty , shine, sex and candy, cut back and Crystallize.

    Score: 9/10

    I have such an overabundance of new music that some albums I basically only listen to once and then barely ever again just because I gotta move on to the next thing. I used to hate that quick consumption but then I realized it weeds out the mid anyway. Most of the albums I don’t naturally go back to on my own are usually pretty forgettable anyway whether it’s because it lacks catchiness or it lacks emotional/lyrical depth or it lacks creativity, etc.

    I'll have my review up by tomorrow.

    And yeah, it does kind of look dead. But it's also summer, so people might be on vacation and all that. Any updates on Jimmy Jazz?

    Also 9,2 is a helluva score. Glad you folks liked the mixtape.

    tbh I thought we were doing a week break so that everybody could get their reviews in for the final two tapes. I guess that having the four remaining members be MIA kinda derailed the end of the round

    Jimmy's been logging in pretty regularly from what I can see (last active yesterday), but he hasn't replied anything since the day Iceman released. I think it might be due to some personal stuff he mentioned earlier ITT, but there's no way of knowing. Hoping he comes back tho!! :emoji_fingers_crossed:

    So by now the active ones are:

    @Wreckless
    @jankland
    @Ripper Roo
    @Justin Trudeau
    @Yeez

    And myself? For now I mean

    Is that enough to continue? We could

    I think that the club having a few active members is kinda of a double edged sword tbh. On one hand, it allows for the participating members to be able to share more albums/tapes, but it also means that our reviews are usually spread out a bit more compared to before. Still love the club though, and if it continues I'll be glad to stick around!

    Also, just for curiosity, i took a look at OP and made a list of members that have graced this thread at one point of another:
    BornSinner (first reply ITT, did a review for J Hus and disappeared)
    Hargydon
    Omar Little
    Lowkitz (still semi active)
    Ordinary Joel
    DiggleDogg69
    Ice Cube
    Jimmy Jazz
    Allis Mines
    Evad
    Bigfoot
    CSW
