Feb 1, 2015 Managed to complete a piece on the remix The Weeknd dropped last night. The Three Kings (or, "The Weeknd Knights Swae Lee as Future keeps guard") Thoughts on the track or the write up? Thoughts? Swae Lee/Rae Sremmurd in general? (im getting better at spelling their name without having to think about it ) It's hard for me not to look at this track as validation of the talent/potential those kids have, especially while everyone and their mom loves to look down on them for their content As long as they have the likes of Mike Will, Future, and now Abel, on their side, they should be fine dont remember all the weeknd fans but @Creation @LebronFlockaJames @Jet @4LS @Swizz @MT2 @Slyk @BigCountry @Enigma @Radeem etc
Feb 1, 2015 Rae Sremmurd are GOAT, this is the greatest song of all time thank you BigCountry and ODB for putting me on Slyk EDIT: lmao, i think the video above is bogus, likely lookin for this guy:
Feb 1, 2015 Throw Sum Mo >>> Come Get Her's flames as well. Kendrick Lamar was tweetin about unlock da swagg This kids are my age making music for kids my age, and doing it better than they have any right to. Plus, their story is literally like a fairytale (homeless, throwing bangers in bandos, discovered by Mike Will). I don't get what's not to like edit: you didn't link the right song by the way lol
Feb 1, 2015 i was chillin with the open containerrrr but yeah lets not get off track: "Drinks on Us (Remix)" haha thought?
Feb 1, 2015 baby dont use dutty dishes or you might whip up a BURRRR my neck my wrists so BURRRR thugger's verse >>>>>> sheeeesh
Feb 1, 2015 >>> the hook. Drinks on us is The Weeknd kills it and Swae Lee does his thing. Future is meh imo, loved him on High Fashion with Travi$ Scott tho Good review
Feb 1, 2015 Yeah Future's kind of an after thought on the song but he kills it bruh. Walkin' round like a zombie daddy And yeah his new track with Travi$ might be better than the PND/Young Thug one Also, peep his new project with Zaytoven if you haven't: it's my favorite project of the year so far (i kno it's only feb lol)
Feb 1, 2015 I've peeped it. Its ok. Layup is my fav track. No Basic and Peacoat are cool too. I feel like all the beats sound too similar tho
Feb 1, 2015 But that's largely in part of what makes it work. It's such an intimate record - at only 9 tracks. It's under 30 mins long, and there's an undeniable cohesion to the project, evne though future's style is so free-form at times. Zaytoven is f---ing awesome in my opinion. He slowly goes from like outright trap, to a more jazz-influenced vibe, and then brings it full circle again by the end. Layup, No Basic and Peacoat are all in my top 5 as well. Real Sister is f---ing awesome. Forever Eva and Oooooh are dope. basically they're all at least good.
Feb 1, 2015 I mean its def a solid and cohesive project like you said. I like when records have the same vibe but when all the beats have the same snare, drum set in the back of every track it gets boring quick, to me.
Feb 1, 2015 I think it kinda deviates from that in the middle, around Bruddahs and Where I'm From it's short enough, i'd give it a couple more spins. it's head-bob level is off the charts
Feb 1, 2015 I love original song, but Abel took it to another level. He killed this beat. The only thing that bothers me is Future's guest appearance. I found his verse very uncalled for. It kinda ruins the vibe in both versions of the song, but it doesn't mean it's bad tho.
