The Moon Man Out of my mind

    Nov 28, 2014
SHADY XV was terrible, let's not sugar coat this now, even yela and crooked were pulling off better verses than Em but is it Ems fault?!

the people around him have to be telling him that what he is doing is good, they must be telling him that this material is worthy of being released to the public but it's really not!

I noticed in the cypher that Royce had a few lines like Eminem has over the last few years, especially the plumber line and I believe that Eminems company is going to ruin his legacy.

he has the talent, he has the contacts and he has the evidence that lots of fans want déjà vu/going through changes quality but who are these people saying Shady XV is the best album in a decade? is album of the year etc.

with a lot of people loving anything Eminem is putting out along with his company I truly believe this as good as it gets

am I the only one who feels this way ?!

We need to make an all encompassing Eminem discussion thread lol. Hopefully our SEO efforts we just started bring a more diverse memberbase here b.

But to address OP's point, I think a true creative doesn't look for validation from others. When he asks for an opinion, it'll be "do you like option a better b, or the opposite." How many people would have told Kanye he was out of his mind for making 808s after Graduation (or for making Yeezus for that matter)? What about Drake when he released Hold On We're Going Home?

When trying to figure out why Eminem has declined so much, look no further than the man himself.

His next album will be his last. Eminem has been in the game nearly 16 years & after 2-3 albums alot of artists tend to decline.
All the rappers from the 00's apart from Kanye have fallen off too. It would be great for his legacy if he can drop a very good final album. He needs to work with good producers who won't be yes men.

I mentioned Kanye. Nas is sill droppin good but not great albums. Jay's MCHG was very average & BP3 wasn't great either.

I think Life is Good is a great album. And Hov made a top 3 (in his catalog) album with American Gangster.

But anyways I think its unanimous that Eminem is incapable of being the artist he used to be.

That was 7 years ago though. Its over 12 years since we got a great Eminem album so no chance we will get an album anywhere near as good as the first 3.

Yup, but we were talking about declining after 2-3 albums.

For the record, I haven't liked anything from Jay-Z after AG with the exception of his work on WTT.

the potential for one final classic album is there. whether or not he manages to pull it off remains to be seen. I suppose you could scrape together 15 or so really good songs/features since his comeback to make a very good, if not classic album, but to make another entire album's worth of classic material will be a serious challenge. Still, anything is possible.

We all know, he's not going to retire any time soon. Interscope won't let him to do it, because his music still sells good. There's no company in the world who would recall a product that gives huge profits.

my long term plan is spending something close to 2000$ to seo the s--- outta our mind to bring different memberbase in here

however, that does NOT mean i dont want shady members...i want them to stay...but i dont want to be the major force we have

hopefully i will fix that in the coming months

He needs to stop this fascination with punchlines.. his style now seems to be "say anything that rhymes, complicate it and then wrap it up with a punchline" its boring..
Em is at his best when he shows raw emotion and when he's story telling. If he could do a real lyrically honest album and work with some old school producers, he could make one last classic album.

Eminem's content on Shady XV is better than his content on MMLP2 in my opinion. And it's great to see him and Luis Resto producing again. I'd love to see just those two produce Em's next album.

Eminem will never be the Eminem we knew. Everyone knows that even Eminem himself knows it. But isn't that what happens to every rapper at some point?

The thing with Eminem is he still shows signs, little sparks of the hold him. Showed it on Relapse, showed it on Recovery, MMLP2, h---, there are instances on ShadyXV. Yes, music wise he has declined. Yes, we will never have an album as amazing as MMLP or TES. Yes, we will forever have good - great albums from him, be it if it's 1 more, 2 more, 3 more albums. Thing is he is surrounded by people that will kiss his a--- and tell him his music is great rather than say "Eh, to be honest, it's good, but..."

But the key here is to enjoy the music we have and will get. Eminem won't be around forever so just appreciate what we've had and appreciate what we will have.:jordan:

Are we STILL doing these overly-sensational ''Eminems career is finished'' threads? :kanye:

We get it, he'll never be what he was in 2000. Neither will Jay, neither will Nas. Where are their threads? Holy fck.
