    On a serious note, he comes off like his own worst enemy. You have to make friends to get on, and he seems about as approachable as Charles Hamilton's crazy a---. He's still got a substantial cult following from what I can tell.

    Cuz he decided to make a bunch of inaccessible lo-fi s--- after Below the Heavens.

    Not that I'm saying they're bad (far from it), but it's not exactly the way to go about being commercially successful. Doesn't seem like he really cares though.

    Since the first time I heard 'Below the Heavens' Blu has been my favorite emcee. He should have made it, but like @BigCountry says, he probably doesn't care about the fame. 'Blu Collar Worker' is a perfect example of his life style.

    Man, I just mentioned him in another thread.

    SMH... when I think about what this guy could have been. It's like he's to lyrical. He goes over peoples heads sometime. He picks funky beats and just just in his own world. He was out in San Jose a few months back, I was so bummed I missed his set.

    I hope he gets back with exile and makes good beats.

    Seems like a good place to bring it up, so I will.

    Why do people think you have to be Drake to "make it"? If rap is paying your bills, then you're already in the 1%.

    To be honest, I have no idea how much money someone like Blu makes...but I agree with your sentiments.

    Schoolboy makes better 'music' if you compare them, you got salty because he was stating a fact, that's all. Pretentious hipsters have made 'Below The Heavens' the most overrated album in rap history.

    There's nothing pretentious about Below the Heavens and it is a classic.

    You could make that argument about just about any other Blu album, but you chose the most accessible/least pretentious one.

    I was referring to the 'type' of people who call it a classic not the album itself, it's a solid album.. nothing more, hipsters just love an underdog.
