Best Rap Duo?

    Apparently I have to elaborate on what a duo is…
    Eminem and Royce is not a duo.
    Kanye and Jay Z is not a duo.

    They can't be established rappers simply rapping together or making an album together. I really didn't think I'd have to get this literal..

    according to the poll vegas is the best bme song since 1999

    im guessing roughly the same majority feel it's also the best duo song in at least as long

    i mean niqqas in paris is good too i guess, does that count

    Run The Jewels would count more than these ^^^^ But both of those guys were separate artists before they paired up.

    Kanye and Jay Z are both separate artists that paired up.

    This isn't best collab guys. Having 1 album where 2 popular rappers get together isn't a duo. What site am I on??

    it says rap duo, so I took that to mean that both members need to rap, not a producer/emcee combo. Otherwise you could discuss Eric B./Rakim, Atmosphere, etc.


    another legit contender, especially since they're allegedly going to put out another album

    Absolutely, nonetheless this thread was over after you guys posted Kast & the Mobb...I remember Talib & Mos Def once performed on either Colbert or Jon Stewart's show can't really remember but I haven't heard they might release a follow up. Blackstar is a huge favorite.

    @Final a duo doesn't have to have members that have been together from the start and only worked with each other, in that case this thread should be called "Best Duos Who Have Been Together Since Day 1" or something of that nature.

    If we were to go with the posted criteria of two artist who've been together always and are still on right now, Rae Sremmurd is the obvious answer

    But I would argue that Jay/Ye, Em/Royce, and RTJ are all legitimate duos as they've been with each other throughout most (if not all) of their careers and have come out with whole albums together, and even when not making whole projects together they still consistently show up in guest spots

    So for me it would be:
    OutKast
    Run The Jewels
    Black Star
    Clipse
    Kanye West and Jay Z
    Rae Sremmurd
    MellowHype

    In that order
