Apr 18, 2015 Nas - Ny state of mind. The song is on Illmatic which is a dark place by virtue of grimness of the other tracks. On the other hand it feels good because it's always nice to be a part of the classic album. It was a nas debut so he was afraid of people's criticism towards the album what could inevitably lead to an early end of his career (falling off) but in fact it was a straight path to the top(walking a straight line).
