I applaud the efforts, but with the current state of omicron, I wonder how much good this will do in the long-term? The latest bill is to provide 8 at-home tests per person per month. That's a shitload of tests and government $$$. Unless we find ourselves in a variation as deadly as Delta again (possible), then we're hitting/have it a threshold of where the majority of the country & world will be finding the virus in their homes. Rapid/at-home tests are highly inefficient (high % of false negatives) compared to PCR.

Maybe I'm minimizing things, but I'm getting my 4th covid test in the past 12 days today. I went to a testing site last week and all they offered was rapid, so I declined and drove 30 mins to get an actual test. I understand that not everyone has the means to do this though.

In 3 months from now, if you test positive for omicron and we've seen this wave pass with continued *majority* mild symptoms, then I'm not sure what to do with all these tests? Will we even continue to quarantine at that point?

Sorry, i'm rambling, but the landscape has changed quite a bit these past few months and I'm trying to wrap my head around the current/future state.

it's another bandaid but hey if it's free it's better than nothing—as much as I hate to say it like that cuz our government owes us a lot more than a few free unreliable tests. Both administrations we've seen under COVID have failed us.

Ordered mines! Recently came back from a trip with some friends & one of them unfortunately tested positive. I started feeling symptoms today so I’m pretty sure I’m positive as well but I’m getting tested on Thursday!

3,000 deaths a day in America... > 95% are unvaccinated.

    I'm okay with it.

someone died in a car crash? thought they had their seat belt on.

The symptoms are mild because I’m vaccinated. I don’t have to worry about being hospitalized.

give me more stats baby, of the 95%, how many were over 65+? then of those, how many had comorbidities?

also, what’s the exact number of vaccinated and unvaccinated deaths in the prior 12 months? i’m sorry they keep a lot of the more interesting stats hidden and was hoping u could find them for me

source me for your op while you’re at it
