May 7, 2015 lets be honest, the best music we got from Eminem was when he was drugged up. Some of the most iconic artists in history have made music whilst on drugs and it's been some of the best work we've seen.
May 7, 2015 eminem wasn't "drugged up" (whatever the f--- this actually means) during the times he dropped sslp, mmlp, and tes. This is a common misconception. He was "drugged up" during his addiction period (like 2002/3 to 2007) Eminem is just as creative as he ever was, his creativity is just more apparent in different ways these days (technical skills as opposed to storytelling/concepts).
May 7, 2015 He was drugged up since 1999. The only difference is that he started using downers 2002 on. The problem is that it got worse and worse as the years went on. That's why 2002 and 2003 were incredible years. But listen closely. You can hear "cracks in the foundation" even though the creativity was there. EDIT: Random question about You Don't Know from the Re-Up for all you sound engineer nerds. Why does Eminem's verse have this echo while the other verses sound fine? Does it have to do with his sluggish voice? This was late 2006 and close to the peak of his drugged out years. It was the point he was basically slurring every word and not able to complete sentences.
May 7, 2015 Just his are layered? Maybe... it just sounds so "spacey" ... sorry I don't know the technical term. Whatever it is, it sounds so different from all the other verses on the song.

May 7, 2015 It's almost like they are doing that to hide something or he recorded his verse separately and something was wrong with the mixing? I don't know... always wondered why. Everyone must have been covering for him always being f----- up back then.
