Jan 12, 2024 I don’t have strong feelings about the album either way on first listen, it’s just okay to me right now. Most of the album is typical 21 Savage while the last few songs lean more into the R&B type s--- that he’s done a bit of before and other sounds. The album will probably grow on me. Best songs to me right now are redrum, sneaky, dangerous, née-nah, and red sky. dark days is a good close to the album and one of his deeper songs

Jan 12, 2024 I Am > I Was was probably his best album to a lot of people that don’t necessarily f--- with the trap sound like that. Yes there are plenty bad bars on this new album and I saw people make fun of them on Twitter. 21 savage is one of my favorite rappers but on first listen I’m not impressed. I like his sound but it’s mostly typical 21 savage and does nothing better than his previous albums. He’s been hanging around Drake too long because now he keeps saying stupid lines. The poop line on pop ur s--- was almost a mood killer and felt like parody. I’ll probably like the album more as I listen to it more, but it’s undeniable that 21 savage’s pen game is getting worse with these stupid lines and same recycled topics. I thought this album would be more introspective but aside from a few songs it doesn’t have much meaning at all At least on his Savage Mode albums he fully embraces the meaningless gangsta s--- instead of presenting the album like it’s gonna have some sort of deeper meaning
Jan 12, 2024 You probably wouldn’t like him. Try listening to his album “i am > i was” as that’s probably one his best reviewed albums. If you don’t like that I doubt you’ll like his other s---. I prefer Savage Mode but that might be too trap for some people.

Jan 20, 2024 After several more listens I kinda still feel the same way. Take out tracks 6 and 10-13 and the album is a lot better for it
