Jan 27, 2025 The problem with Em's Medicine Man verse is when he says "get shot in the a--- with a paint gun". Well paint guns don't s---t, they spray. As in- “the contractor used his paint gun to spray the material”. If he meant Paintball gun, that is a different story, and he made a mistake plain and simple. You can even go as far to say ‘spray and pray with a paintball gun’ ... but paint guns sinply don't "s---t", they have a consistent spray- no projectiles, paintball guns however do s---t. And just for arguments sake, let's pretend you can actually “s---t a paint gun”. So what? He coats my a--- with a bit of spray paint? That doesn't hurt. Its so non-threatening, and almost as childish as saying you're gonna s---t somebody's a--- with a paint ball. It just doesn't work any way you try to justify it. It seems like a minor thing on surface level, but a paint gun and paintball guns are different. And I don't want to hear none of this "doesn't fit the syllable rhyme scheme", because it doesn't matter if he is still wrong, paint guns dont s---t. Period. He can either change the rhyme scheme or be wrong, but he doesn't get a pass on this one. If we keep letting him get away with making these mistakes instead of calling him out about it, he can hardly be considered for GOAT status.
Jan 27, 2025 I don't care about this song, but.. "...she'd shot a spray of toothpaste across the mirror..." https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2007/05/28/puppy-2 "... shot a spray of urine at reporters" https://www.nytimes.com/2003/05/06/...zookeepers-new-task-getting-animals-back.html "...we shot a spray of droplets at the fly using a household spray bottle..." www.nature.com/articles/s41598-020-73583-2 shot a spray of paint...shot a paint gun etc
Jan 27, 2025 Didn't read the whole post just came in to say it's a great verse. Dre's verse (especially voice) kinda sucks sadly
Jan 27, 2025 Regardless my original point of a bit of spray across your a--- really doesn't hurt. Paint gun and paintball gun are 2 different things.
Jan 27, 2025 The verse was mid at best. He rhymed "c-m" and "come" that's practically "rhyming n----- with n-----" territory. And what significance does Lou Rawls have to do with anything? How is that clever? There are no reports of Lou Rawls haunting any studios, he's never even been credited as a sample throughout Em or Dre's career, he wasn't born in Compton or Detroit? Lou Rawls has no historical significance to either of their careers, seems like a really empty bar to be honest. Very overrated.
Jan 27, 2025 Then why even bother listening to Hip Hop? Just put on an instrumental or go listen to Beethoven... What a terrible take
