Aug 6, 2015 I left Jason out because he doesn't have a watershed movie that compares to either of these respective franchises. While Halloween is the superior first movie in my opinion, having Freddy transform into a campy villain in the sequels was more fun than the convoluted mess that became of Halloween. Dream Warriors is a guilty pleasure of mine while also containing one of my favorite kills (the puppeteer).
Aug 7, 2015 As a whole it's hard since I know Halloween has some extremely bad films in the series. As far as NOES I've seen every film but can't remember much. Halloween is great because it's realistic can easily be something that happens which to me is more scary. NOES is more creative and brought something new to the table. Which the genre needs now instead of generic crappy jump scare ghost movies. But I gotta go with Halloween Michael is my favorite killer of all time fan girl over him so hard as a kid.
Aug 7, 2015 The only Nightmare films I liked were the original and New Nightmare I liked Halloween, Halloween II, & Return of Michael Myers so 3-2 , Mike wins!
Aug 9, 2015 The Third one was horrible..lol didn't even have Michael in it, and strayed away from everything about the first two 1, 2, 4, & Maybe 5 are great 6, 7, 8, and Zombie's remakes were horrible
Aug 9, 2015 Zombie's first remake is underrated! Y'all kidding yourselves if you think Resurrection/Curse/Revenge are in any way better than NOES/Dream Warriors/New Nightmare.
Aug 9, 2015 Both originals are amazing but yeah not a surprise which I would pick. Halloween is my favourite. Nightmare 3 (with the return of Nancy) was pretty good, and New Nightmare as too. Rest is pretty bad and becomes worse after every movie until NN. Halloween 2 is good, H4 decent, same goes for H20. 5 and 6 are boring and Resurrection is an insult to the franchise. It's so bad lol. Remake I give the slight edge to Nightmare, altough I hated Freddy there (Robert Eglund >>>). The second halloween remake was horrible, the first below average imo. all things considered, I win Looking forward to the new remakes/sequels that are planned but I don't expect too much of them - Michael Myers
Aug 9, 2015 It's a great movie when you get over the fact that the previous two movies had Michael. I used to hate it until I gave it a chance.
Aug 9, 2015 Carpenter initially wanted the franchise to be about Halloween, with every movie being a story involving Halloween night (like a different story everytime) I don't mind Halloween 3, it's decent imo, and pretty original. But the fans were pissed it wasn't about Michael so with part 4 they decided to bring him back. Imo 4 was good but I honestly expected 5 to be about Jamie being the killer -after the ending of 4-. But they just recycled the same stuff.. 6, with the curse was horrible. I liked the fact that he is a cold killer, and they kind of ruined that idea with the thorn storyline (part 5 a little, and 6). That's why they decided to ignore it when they made H20, even tho the first draft did include a scene from 4,5,6. But yeah after the decent H20 they f----- up everything with Ressurection so I ignore it.
Aug 9, 2015 I've always been curious to know how the series would've been like had they made each movie about something different.
Aug 9, 2015 Yeah me too, the concept of it was a good idea imo but mostly because of the fans they decided not to do it. Wrond choice imo. They should have did 4,5,6 differently and made H20 just as a 'sequel'
Aug 9, 2015 Wouldn't call it great, but few movies capture the vibe of the holiday like Season of the Witch does. Would be rated much higher by horror fans if it didn't have the Halloween name attached to it.
