Sep 6, 2015 HEAR ME OUT BEFORE YOU SAY NO Since the Marshall Mathers LP2 songs like Kings Never Die, Guts Over Fear and Phenomenal (His main singles) have had little to no radio play when they were released. His social media doesn't get as much traffic as it should like his tweets barely get RT (I know it's stupid to point out but still and it's not him behind the account) Phenomenal was a song for a blockbuster movie and It hasn't lit up the world. Heck MMLP2's best commercial song was The Monster and that's mostly because of the Ri Hook. I Know EM has his fanbase that will never leave him but is the outside world starting to care less and less? Not to mention Shady XV and Phenomenal Soundtrack sold poorly in comparison compared to even HTS and Em's name was plastered on them projects
Sep 6, 2015 all those songs aren't advertised like lead singles for albums. Phenomenal was for a movie that did OK at the box office and kings never die is just another song on the soundtrack. he'll always do huge numbers when it comes to solo albums
Sep 6, 2015 Em will always have millions of fans no matter what he does, the last decade has proven that.
Sep 6, 2015 This is true. Op is right though, the music landscape has changed, em's early fans are not the core demographic of music anymore. Em is far beyond the peak he once had, even post-return (2008). I was a huge fan, I could care less about his music now...maybe I am in the minority here but he isn't creative at all outside of rapping fast... Eminem is a recluse too which doesn't help.
Sep 6, 2015 But does have millions of die hard fans now? Artists such as Justin have millions of DIE HARD fans
Sep 6, 2015 no, eminem is the largest rapper in the entire world and always has been and always will, do not ask this question about marshall again
Sep 6, 2015 Exactly. You can't say he's irrelevant when he hasn't put out a solo album in two years. Yes he had Shady XV and the Southpaw Soundtrack, but I guarantee you most casual music fans don't even know those projects exist. If he put out a new solo album with a Rihanna feature you wouldn't be able to go anywhere without hearing it.
Sep 6, 2015 Also to be fair shady XV did about 150k the first week which is pretty good for a compilation album. Beat out Beyoncé that week.
Sep 6, 2015 so if an artist doesn't have AS MANY die hard fans as another artist... they are becoming irrelevant? kanye has more die hard fans than young thug but young thug is still relevant as f---
